Well i’m back from the sunny Caribbean and missed one hell of a WWE No Way Out pay-per-view! A phenomenal twist by the writing staff to have Edge compete in both Elimination Chamber matches, along with losing the WWE Championship and then winning the World Heavyweight title. These were firsts in wrestling history and also put the two top belts on Smackdown. Triple H picked up the WWE strap to begin his 13th reign in the first chamber match of the night.

Now Raw has no champion, and it will be interesting to see how the company brings a world belt back to the flagship show with WrestleMania only 25 days away. Ok so as I look into my crystal ball I see the championship situation being solved one of two ways.

1. John Cena wins the world championship back from Edge over the next couple of weeks, and a quick angle is put together for a Cena WrestleMania program.

2. Edge moves to Raw and finds ways to avoid facing Cena until an inevitable clash occurs at Mania.

With Randy Orton delivering an RKO to Stephanie McMahon and a furious Triple H rushing to her aid, this obviously sets up Randy using his Royal Rumble title shot against The Game at WrestleMania. I see Triple H and Orton appearing on both Raw and Smackdown over the next few weeks sneak attacking one another.

Now on to Mr. Chris Jericho. I’m sure most of you have heard by now of Jericho’s altercation with a couple of fans following a house show back on February 6. To briefly recap: a fan started banging on Y2J’s rental car after he was leaving a house show amongst a swarm of booing fans. Jericho tried to keep going, but the individual was grabbing to open Chris’ door. Long story short a female friend of the man involved jumped Jericho and both her and Chris spit on one another while hurling insults. As of yet WWE has not disciplined Jericho (and they shouldn’t), and there has been no legal action taken by the fans. I would expect a lawsuit to be coming from those idiotic fans in the not too distant future.

Keeping with Jericho, his storyline of being against the movie “The Wrestler” and WWE Hall of Fame Legends continues to get more entertaining as he put the boots to Rowdy Roddy Piper on Raw Monday night. I still think Mickey Rourke will be in the corner of Ric Flair, or someone else fighting for the honour of the Legends, at WrestleMania 25. However it turns out Jericho is doing an incredible job as the heel in this angle.

That’s it for this week….the home stretch for the Road to WrestleMania has begun!

One Response to “Thoughts on No Way Out, Jericho update, and the Road to WrestleMania”
  1. 1.

The only pay-off would be either Jericho/Flair or Jericho/Hogan.

The problem with Jericho/Hogan is that you know that Hogan won’t put over Jericho, which would be the honourable thing to.

Flair will do the right thing for business.

This feud is a nice reworking of Randy Orton’s Legend Killer feud a couple of years back, which culminated with a great storyline involving Mick Foley.
