A car being stolen is certainly not news. Nor is a car being stolen by a juvenile. But a car being stolen and taken on a joy ride by a four-year-old… now that’s news! It happened in Garsnas, Sweden, a woman’s four-year-old son took her car keys and went joy riding after his mother fell asleep. The young boy managed to drive for about a quarter of a mile, successfully making three right turns, before finally crashing into a truck. His mother didn’t find out until she was awoken by a local shopkeeper knocking at her door to bring her son home. A local police spokesman said officers would not be pressing charges – and were glad that no one was injured. (Ananova)
How on earth did he reach the pedals?

The 33-year-old, Jeris Herrera, said, “I dunno if it was something… Garbage, garbage can, I’m not really sure what it was. Whatever it was, I wish I would have just hit that.” A police lieutenant said, “She went through three different yards, fences, bushes, mailboxes, garbage cans, and finally came to rest on the guy wire of a power pole. Very little to no braking.” Herrera was not injured in the incident, however she was cited for careless driving.

A customer is suing a Florida strip club that charged him $50,000 for one night when he claims he spent only $600. The 32-year-old claims it is impossible for one man to spend $50,000 in one night at the strip club. He said he spent $600 total on dances, tips and drinks but the club charged his card $50,000. A lawyer for James said, “How many dances would it take before you run up $50,000 at $20 a dance? Do the math.” (Tampa Tribune)

That is the result of new research which proves men and women who sit for long stretches are at greater risk of dying than those who are on the move.

No matter where you work or what you do, chances are you will feel the most stressed on Tuesdays. And if you want to be even more specific, the stress will peak at 11:45am. That’s the word from researchers at Clasado Ltd., the U.K. company that makes the health supplement Bimuno. Conventional wisdom maintains that Monday is the most stress-filled day. But most workers coast through Monday, spending the day getting their brain in gear and catching up with gossip from the weekend through social networking sites. 53% of those polled admitted they don’t do much work on Monday, and 10% said they spend a lot of this work day on Facebook and Twitter.

Have a great long weekend!

Music can make your heart soar, says researchers. Ten men and women spent 30 minutes listening to music they selected and enjoyed, and another half hour listening to anxiety producing tunes while their blood vessel function was measured. Blood vessel diameter expanded 26% when the volunteers listened to their favorite music but narrowed by 6% while listening to music that caused anxiety. A wider vessel means blood flows more smoothly with less likelihood of heart attack or stroke. “These results were music to my ears,” says Dr. Michael Miller, who headed the University of Maryland Medical Center study. “They signal another preventive strategy that we may incorporate in our daily lives to promote heart health.” .. another brilliant reason to listen to EZRock! ; )
