April’s Fool .. laugh it off
Wednesday, March 28th, 2012
If you are the victim of a practical joke this April Fool’s Day, be smart and laugh it off. One recent study found that people who could chuckle at their own expense were more cheerful and optimistic than folks who were not good sports. (Better Homes and Gardens)

Yes, there’s an app for that ..
Tuesday, March 27th, 2012
Called Circle of 6, this free app, which won first place in a contest sponsored by Vice President Joe Biden, helps you out of tricky social situations that could lead to danger. Say you wind up alone in a sketchy area and need a ride. Tap the car icon and a text goes out to six people you have previously chosen, asking for a lift and pulling your whereabouts from your phone’s GPS. Or suppose you are desperate for a quick way out of talking to a creeper who’s cornered you at a party. A tap on the phone icon asks the same six names for a phone call pretending they need you. It is not for life-threatening scenarios; that is where 911 comes in. But the app can keep things from escalating into an emergency.

Poor Bugs is so sad ..

An earless baby bunny that was a rising star on Germany’s celebrity animal scene had his 15 minutes of fame brought
to an abrupt end when he was accidentally stepped on by a television cameraman.
The fate of 17-day-old Til, a bunny with a genetic defect, was
plastered across German newspapers on Thursday, the same day a small zoo in Saxony was to have presented him to the world at a press conference.
The cameraman told Bild newspaper he hadn’t seen Til, who had
buried himself in hay, when he took the fateful step backward
Wednesday.
Zoo director Uwe Dempewolf tells Spiegel magazine Til didn’t
suffer: “It was a direct hit.”
Germany has been home to several global animal celebrities in
recent years, including polar bear Knut and Paul the prognosticating octopus.

The latest on Demi ..
Wednesday, March 14th, 2012
She was seen looking refreshed and rejuvenated after returning from rehab earlier this month.
But new claims have suggested that Demi Moore is struggling following her discharge from the centre, and is attempting to win her ex Ashton Kutcher back.
It was previously reported that Demi’s split from Ashton after claims of his infidelity was the reason for her plummeting weight and the eventual hospitalization which led to her going to rehab.
And now friends of the 49-year-old actress are said to be concerned that Demi is following a similar path once more, after setting her sights on reuniting with her estranged husband.
One friend told Grazia magazine: ‘Demi definitely isn’t over him yet. Her mood right now relies solely on Ashton and how responsive he is to her messages and phone calls.
‘If he doesn’t message her back for a couple of hours or seems distant in a text, she starts freaking out. While she won’t admit it, she is still completely infatuated with him and it’s clear she wants him back.’
Demi is also said to have been thrown off after Ashton visited her in rehab.
The friend added: ‘Demi is her own worst enemy, because she was doing great in rehab until Ashton came to visit her.
‘He didn’t actually make it down until a couple of weeks ago, after promising to go numerous times before that. As everyone expected, his visit really threw her off and she went from being relatively calm to very anxious and edgy.’
A source told heat magazine: ‘Demi doesn’t know much about Lorene, as she’s been shielded from the media while in rehab. Demi and Ashton have been texting regularly. She seems to be in denial about the fact he is thinking of settling down with another woman and is looking forward to seeing him.
‘Demi’s friends are worried she doesn’t seem to have acknowledged Ashton’s new relationship.’
Despite the fact that Ashton and Lorene looked very friendly as they stepped out in LA earlier this month, a representative for the Two And A Half Men star has maintained the pair are ‘just friends’.
Demi’s return from rehab was the first time the actress has been seen in public since she was hospitalized after having a seizure and collapsing in January.
She had reportedly been smoking ‘an incense-like substance’ as well as inhaling nitrous oxide, better known as laughing gas.
The 911 call made from Demi’s home was later released, in which a caller says the actress appeared to be convulsing.
The actress had sparked concern with her plummeting weight during her public appearances in the weeks following her split from Kutcher, eventually dropping to less than 98 lbs…..

Finally .. proof that it’s ok to blush!
Monday, March 5th, 2012
If you blush, it is a sign of virtue. People who are easily embarrassed are more trustworthy, generous and more likely to be monogamous, according to a study from the University of California, Berkeley. “Moderate levels of embarrassment are signs of virtue,” lead study author Matthew Feinberg said in a university news release. “Our data suggests embarrassment is a good thing, not something you should fight.” Do note that the findings apply to moderate levels of embarrassment and not feelings of shame or extreme social anxiety.
