Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny. – Unknown

Today is the Opening Ceremonies for the 24th Annual Seniors’ Games at the Drop In Center on Bay. I’m lucky enough to have been asked to M.C. the luncheon today and I’d like to take this opportunity to wish all the competitors good luck. This is a fun event where friendly competition is the norm and besides, they always put on a great lunch. Thanks to Terry Lou Legros, Cathy and everyone else at the Seniors Drop In Center.

Mother of the Year?
Tuesday, May 17th, 2011
The 8-year-old girl whose mother went on ABC’s Good Morning America last week and demonstrated giving her daughter Botox injections to give her a better chance of winning child beauty contests has been removed from her home by child welfare officials. But it turns out her mother’s real name isn’t Kerry Campbell and they don’t live in San Francisco, both of which were said in the report. The San Francisco Chronicle said that city officials were inundated with inquires after the GMA report, but that it turns out the woman had a different name and didn’t live in the city. San Francisco Human Services Director Trent Rhorer told the paper he couldn’t give further details because of confidentiality laws in juvenile cases, but said they were no longer involved because the family wasn’t in their jurisdiction. However, ABC News said child welfare officials where the family does live removed the girl from her home over the weekend. Still unknown is the women’s real identity and where she lives, as well as how much of the rest of her story about injecting Botox for child beauty pageants is actually true. GMA picked up the original story from the British tabloid The Sun, which reported on the woman in March.
