F-f-f-Freezing February!
March 2nd, 2010 by James
February was full of fame, Fanatics and fans!

The Road Krew kicked off the month with a Tom Cochrane concert top open Kingston’s Annual Feb Fest. The crowd was large and their hearts were even larger!
The week was complete with public skating in Market Square, a figure skating demonstration and of course, the Limestone Classic! In preparation for the annual tournament, the Road Krew almost froze their fingers off! But it was all worth it to see the brave and enthusiastic fans come out and support their hockey idols!
Rounding up the month was of course the Men’s Hockey Game between Canada and the USA for the Gold Metal in Vancouver 2010! The Road Krew hit up Fanatics and boy was it a nail biter! The place was packed full of fans and the energy was epic as Canada broke records with it’s 14th Gold Metal! What an amazing experience! Go Canada Go!
January- Heating up the Stage

Although the weather was cold outside, the stage was on fire in Stages Nightclub! Local bands battled it out for the title of Bandslam Champions, and the decision wasn’t easy! The Road Krew was there for both nights of the annual Bandslam, and it blew us away…literally! The first night consisted of the top eight qualifying bands, and after much consideration, it was narrowed down to just four bands for the following night. In the end, it was Fugitive Underground that ruptured the judges table, and they walked away with showcases at the Canadian Music Festival and NXNE, a chance to record in the Tragically Hip’s Bathhouse Studio, gear from Motorsport Plus, and-who could forget?- a killer amount of rockin’ new fans!
November - Road to the Vanier Cup
March 1st, 2010 by James
November was a month of tight pants and touchdowns for the Road Krew! The Queens Gaels were hungry for the Vanier cup and the whole city felt it! We were there for every game at home with the Gaels this season, with our very own Sideshow as the MC for the Games. As the season continued, the crowds grew larger and larger, and the Gaels could taste victory. On the day of the final game in Quebec City, we were privileged to be immersed with the fans at Fanatics when the Gaels finally ended their starvation for the cup. The energy of the crowd was beyond words. It was definitely an experience we will never forget!

Demo Derby
September 22nd, 2009 by REV
On Sunday at the Kingston Fall fair, some of us were lucky enough to take part in the battle of the radio stations Demo Derby. We first started off with a figure 8 race to warm
up and get a feel for the cars, then moved on to the demolition derby!
Congrats to Boomer who won both of the derbys that she entered this summer. Special thanks to all of the highschools that helped build our cars.
Go Gaels Go
September 8th, 2009 by REV
Yesterday we suited up and headed over to Richardson Stadium to watch the Queens Gaels take on the Guelph Gryphon’s in some exciting university football action.
It was a great game right from the opening minutes. Queens even pulled away during the 2nd quarter, but Guelph made some changes at the half that really got them back into the game.
With three seconds left in the game, the teams were all tied. Queens had the ball at the 45 yard line and kicked a field goal to win the game!
If you want to check out the next game, come out to Richardson stadium this Saturday at 1pm.
Limestone City Blues Fest
September 1st, 2009 by REV
This past weekend the Limestone City was alive with the sound of blues music. One $10.00 bracelet got you into just about every show that happened during the whole weekend. Venues like Confederation Basin, Springer Market Square, and the Princess &
Barrie Street stage. Several downtown clubs also participated in the blues fest, and there was another addition this year with K-Rock Centre jumping on board, playing host to Robert Cray and Mavis Staples on Thursday night.
It was also the last weeked to pick up your St. Lawrence College School of Rock pass for a chance to win an Apple Mac Book and a $500.00 shop card to the Cataraquai Town Centre. Congrats to Thomas Kirby who’s name was drawn on Monday morning with the K
-Rock Morning Crew!
Surprise! It’s Saturday!
August 26th, 2009 by REV
We had a very busy day on Saturday. It all started off with a surprise visit to our friends over at Tyroute Telus at the Rio Can Centre. We dropped by and had some Limestone City Blues Fest passes and Blues Bucks to give away. Congrats to all our lucky winners. Enjoy the Bluesfest this weekend!
Our other stop on Saturday was Karen Truelove’s house to have her Steam Whistle Backyard Pool Party! Big thanks to Steam Whistle who came down with one of their sweet vintage vehicles and served up ice cold beverages
all night.
Fire Fit Challenge
August 6th, 2009 by REV
On the weekend of August 1st and 2nd the Invista Centre played host to the Fire Fit
Challenge. Firefighters came from Ottawa, Toronto, and several other surrounding areas.
It’s said to be one of the most grueling few minutes in sports, and it’s true. Any “Sport” that has paramedics waiting at the finish line is usually pretty intense.
Even the kids got to take part in the action with a miniature fire fit course.
EASTER SEALS BEACH VOLLEYBALL
July 22nd, 2009 by REV
On Saturday Kingston Expert Tees hosted the 10th Annual Easter Seals Beach Volleyball tournament. There were 16 teams this year, playing right from 9am-5pm. Lots of money was raised for this great cause and we can’t wait to get back out there again next year! Big thanks to all the teams who came out and played. You had lots of fun and helped out a great cause!
