January 13th, 2010 by Kornicky & Crosbie
They are estimating up to 3 million Haitians may have been affected by this Quake. As Usual The Red Cross has innitiated the first response. We will do more, but for the immediate time..
Red Cross responds to devastating earthquake in Haiti
(OTTAWA, Jan. 13, 2010) – The Red Cross is responding to a powerful 7.0 magnitude earthquake that struck off the coast of Haiti on Jan. 12, 2010. The earthquake has caused buildings to collapse and wide-spread damage throughout Port au Prince.
Red Cross response was immediate. Local volunteers continue to support evacuation activities and provide much needed shelter, clean water and medical support. The Canadian Red Cross has contributed $200,000 from its International Disaster Relief Fund and Canadian aid workers are on standby to be deployed to Haiti if needed.
Canadians are encouraged to support Red Cross relief efforts by making a financial donation to the Canadian Red Cross Haiti Earthquake fund. Donations can be made online at www.redcross.ca/helpnow , by calling toll free 1-800-418-1111 or at any Red Cross office.

A Thought from Belleville
November 25th, 2009 by Kornicky & Crosbie
Good Morning Krew
I just had to add a comment about the Krock Centre. The people who complain about the location of the facility should come to Belleville and have a look at our downtown.
Most of our entertainment venues are away from the downtown. Our downtown is practically a ghost townwith many empty store fronts and the usual cast of “characters” on hand. The addition of the Empire Theater and Empire Square has helped dramatically, but more is needed.
I have attended several events at the Krock centre, and love that the Centre is downtown. So it costs a few bucks to park and parking may be limited–go early-get parked and go for a shop or have a beverage or dinner (or both) at one of many fine establishments within walking distance of Krock Centre. These people should quit whining and be thankful for what they have.
Jealous In Belleville,
Steve
