Long Weekend Fishing !

I’m sure hoping the forecast is wrong for this holiday Monday. As of this morning, they are calling for rain….but, you know how that goes !
Busy weekend with lots of Thanksgiving activities so Monday is the only day to get out and toss a line in.
The great thing about our city is that you certainly don’t have to go far to do it. My plan is to do a little river fishing in town. Either St. Vital park, or Bourkvale park. (Red or Assiniboine) Will probably try St. Vital park first…as the chances of catching something really big is better. (cat fish, walleye etc.) Since I haven’t fished off shore their for awhile, I’m not sure how the riverbank is…but, will definitely check it out.
Going to bring the Dude, and my Pops–CK-One out too. Last year at this very time, my Dad landed what was the biggest fish of his life at St. Vital park. He had a master angler cat fish on board…which sadly, decided to jump off the line just as we were about to pull it on shore. So, no picture’s with his monster. I think the Dude was more upset about it than him ! He fought that fish for over 20 minutes, with it jumping in the air several times….would have been sooo nice to see him hold up his “prize” at the end.
But…that’s the great thing about fishing. You can go out and try again !
Okay…weather Gods….please change the forecast for Monday !
