Twi-CON in OTTAWA!!!!!

A summit of world leaders and top economic thinkers in Toronto this June has put the bite on a vampire romance conference.
So the Twilight “TwiCon” Conference has been moved to Lansdowne Park.
TwiCon’s North Carolina-based managing partner, Becky Scoggins, said she learned a few weeks ago that TwiCon, which allows fans to rub elbows with actors from vampire films and television series, would probably be bumped by the high-security G20 summit to be held in downtown Toronto.
The Metro Toronto Convention Centre “gave us a call a few weeks ago and said ‘You’ll probably be booted.’ While we we waiting, we were scouting for new venues.”
Ottawa was almost immediately on the radar, she said.
“Ottawa has a large True Blood and Twilight following. There’s not a lot of events like our’s that visit Ottawa.”
The event, to be held over three days from June 25 to 27, will be a first for Canada. Last year’s inaugural TwiCon in Dallas, Texas, attracted about 3,000 attendees, mostly female, and 17 per cent under the age of 21. Scoggins expects the Ottawa event will attract about 1,200 vamp pop fans.
So far, she has signed on New Moon’s Tinsel Korey, who plays Emily, the girlfriend of the leader of the werewolf pack; Sam Trammell, who stars as shapeshifter Sam in the HBO series True Blood along with Joe Manganiello, who is soon to be introduced to the series in the role of werewolf pack leader, Alcide.
“He’s just a hunk of yumminess. He’s a big draw,” said Scoggins, who is looking to round out the roster with two or three more vamp pop celebrities.
The conference will also feature autograph and photograph session with the actors, sessions like “Bella’s self-defense class,” a vendor hall, a masked ball and an intimate dinner with the stars. Tickets start at $179.
“It’s really an opportunity for fans to get one-on-one time with the stars, or at least see them in person,” said Scoggins.
Vampire romance is not a new trend, although it’s an almost exclusively feminine phenomena, she said.
“It’s an escape. I think girls really like that. What girl doesn’t like a dreamy, hunky vampire?”

She says it’s the arm she holds her mic with, so everytime she sings into the microphone she’s reminded of her “little monsters”! Cute.
Pink’s Grammy Performance

Pink says she almost lost her balance when doing her high-flying performance at the Grammy’s on Sunday night! She does the acrobatic act every night during her concerts, but says the Grammy performance was very different because of the lights.
“When I do it [on tour], I don’t have lights above me. Tonight, there were lights above me, so it almost went into a strobe thing, and I actually did get a little turned around. I thought … I was going to fall on my nude butt. But I worked it out. I would say that no one ever has another excuse to lip sync.”
