You have to see this…….
Monday, June 30th, 2008
This guy makes “art” on the back of dusty cars and car windows in dusty Texas.
Imagine coming out of the grocery store and seeing this on the back of your dirty ol’ window.
Crazy cool.
I am so excited I may faint.

Sooo…..I married a DREAMBOAT who has listened to my incessant whining about going to see Dirty Dancing on stage in Toronto for MONTHS now. I think I even burst into tears once trying to explain my dire need to see this show.
Alas…..we have an expensive summer of travel planned. And there weren’t a lot of tickets available when we were. So I resigned myself to accepting that it wasn’t gonna happen.
Then Todd called me this morning to tell me we are going to the show on July 4th.
I don’t know how or where he got the tickets. I don’t know how much they were. Frankly…..I don’t care.
I’m going to see Dirty Dancing!
YIPPPPPPPPPYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
Most people think the best line from DD is:
“Nobody puts Baby in the corner….”
That’s a good one— but I prefer when Johnny errrrr…Patrick Swayze says to Robbie the jerk:
”You just keep puttin’ the pickle on everybody’s plate college boy and leave the rough stuff to me.”
I swoon every time.
If you love DD…….you need to see this……There’s a new block of tickets available!
This afternoon I had a nap……

and I dreamt that I roller skated through Ontario and over the border into NY State. I was following the KIX bus for a reason I can’t remember now but seemed very valid during the dream. People were cheering me on…so it must’ve been a good cause.
Wacky dreams run in my family. When I was a kid we lived in Niagara Falls. My mom used to have a recurring dream that we had a killer whale that lived in our backyard and we all had to go outside and take turns with the garden hose hosin’ him down. Must’ve been all those Marineland commercials.
Must go here……….

Americans get all the wicked restaurants.
How is it I’ve made it 31 years without knowing this exists?
I smell a road trip to Buffalo coming.
The following conversation just went down between Todd and his Wii video game…..
Sunday, June 22nd, 2008
(Note: the game is called “Heatseaker” and it’s about flying army jets and blowing various other planes, boats and people up. Nice.)
*OTHER NOTE: the following may contain scenes of violence and coarse language. Reader discretion is advised.
Video Game: “You need to buck up and help out..there’s another missle coming!”
Todd: “I’m TRYIN’ brother!!! Easy for you say….up in a booth somewhere.”
Video Game: “Here it comes, here it comes!”
Todd: “YEAH I see it! (Drops bomb and hits boat, plane or some innocent person…who knows.. .) WOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO!”
Video Game: “Target destroyed! Good job Maverick! You got him!
Todd: (Extremely proud and bad-ass) “I got bombs everywhere.”
Video Game: “You deserve a new plane and weapon pack….land and load.”
Todd: “You’re damn right I do!”
Video Game: “New objective… Mission 2…….blah blah, blah….”
Todd: “Super Duper………Let’s rock.”
Reminds me of something my mom used to say……
“The only difference between the men and the boys is the size of the feet and the price of the toys.”
This morning on our patio…..

we had a bird party! We were having coffee and soaking up the sun when a woodpecker, two cardinals, a pair of morning doves, chickadees and a finch swung by for some birdseed brunch! (Not necessarily in that order.)
So…..I run to get the camera to document the bird party and Talullah decides her hospitality for birds has run out and proceeds to chase them away every time I try to snap a pic.
Here’s what I got….
This little guy is thinking about moving in. I need first and last.
Talullah takes a bird chasing break to stop and smell the flowers. I just noticed a piece of lattice work is missing on the fence!?! I’ll need to investigate.
Just pretty.
I love Sundays.

Talullah and I LOVE our Veterinarian(s!)
We go to Mitchell Animal Hospital on Gage Avenue in Kitchener. The entire staff there are wonderful and so good to my pup. They are kind and great listeners to crazy doggie mommies who are obsessed with their pups…..not that I know anyone like that or anything….tee hee.
You can tell they truly LOVE animals and have their best interests at heart. So good at their jobs are they that I can say to Talullah..”Wanna go see the girls at the VET?” and she loses her ever lovin’ mind and jumps into the car ready to roll to see all her buddies. When we walk in the ladies at the front desk come out to pet her, give her cookies and basically reaffirm what I know……I have THE cutest, sweetest, smartest dog in the world…or at least in Kitchener Waterloo.
These wonderful gals who we love so much are having a fundraiser this Saturday June 21st from 9am until noon. It’s a nail trimming event..you can get your pet’s nails done for just 5 bucks to support needy pets in South Africa. So bring 5 bucks (Cash only please!) and come to Mitchell Animal Hospital for a great cause for “people” with paws.
Talullah and I will be there. Please bring your sweet, smart pup to say hi and help out!
It’s Dreamy……….

This morning Linda and I were discussing what our dreams meant and we found a great online dictionary to help us decipher them.
Here’s the link:

I also found this recipe for something called “Death Chicken” which sounds pretty darn good…..I haven’t tried it yet…but here’s the recipe if you’d like to beat me to it:
Paprika
Garlic powder/Salt
Nutmeg- a pinch
Oregano-1 teaspoon
Parsley Flakes-2 large tablespoons
8-10 slices uncooked bacon
1 box of Uncle Ben’s (mushroom flavor) Rice
5-7 boneless pieces of chicken (your choice) thighs, breasts..etc.
1 can of Campbell’s Cream of Chicken
1 cup of water
Salt/pepper
Get a 9×13 casserole dish
Lay 8-10 uncooked bacon slices on the bottom (flat)
Pour the box of uncooked rice on top of the bacon (with the seasoning)
Put salt, pepper, and paprika on the chicken pieces and lay the chicken on top of the rice
In a bowl: mix together the cream of chicken, water, nutmeg, oregano, parsley flakes. Pour bowl on top of chicken.Wrap HEAVY (it matters) aluminum foil and cover the casserole dish
Cook @ 300 for 2 hours
HAPPY TUESDAY!
I think I may have a problem.

http://tlc.discovery.com/tv/jon-and-kate/jon-and-kate.html
I cannot stop watching “Jon and Kate Plus 8″ on TLC. Even if it’s an episode I’ve already seen…I’ll watch it again. Obsessed? Perhaps. I just love this family and their incredible circumstances.
Jon and Kate married young and had a set of twins. When the girls turned 3, they decided to try for one more and got sextuplets instead. Let the craziness ensue.
I think they are spectacular parents. I truly admire Jon and Kate’s parenting style, organization, never ending love and almost never ending patience for all those babies. They never miss a teachable moment. They are firm, but kind. There are a lot of hugs…and a lot of time outs. It’s just so facinating to see the human spirit cope. I don’t imagine either of them would’ve picked this life…but they have a strong faith and really believe that God never gives you more than you can handle. It’s inspiring.
Sometimes life puts you into situations you never could’ve dreamed up on your own. But you stagger on…rejoicing.
Tune in…you’ll see what I mean.
Gotta run…..there’s a special on @ 9….”Jon and Kate the Early Years.” Before 8 little miracles with 80 toes and 80 fingers arrived and changed EVERYTHING.
