Therien Martial Arts: 60 Day Challenge

January 10th, 2011 by jeff.graham

 img_home_2010_jan.jpg

Jab, cross, hook, uppercut, kick! What a way to kick-off the new year! Help your New Years resolution succeed with a 60 day kickboxing challenge at Therien Martial Arts and Fitness.

Seriously, out of all the workouts I’ve done, the one that kicks my butt the most is kickboxing. The combination of punches, kicks and counters is exhausting! But, if you’re looking to challenge yourself, looking for a way to quickly burn off calories or if you need to try a new workout…join me and we’ll do the Therien Martial Arts 60 Day Challenge together!

For more information contact the Kanata/Stittsville location at 12 Cedarow Court at 613-831-3622 or the Manotick location at 5536 Anne Street.

Having a rough day? Two words: Double Rainbow

September 30th, 2010 by jeff.graham

Ride The Rideau is a 100km bike tour to support some of the most important cancer research in the world. I could really use your support. Please sponsor me here and after you do so, please e-mail me so I can put your name in a draw for a trip for two to Toronto! Training has begun! On September 11th, I’ll be biking 100 kms with Ride the Rideau and music helps keep me motivated…kinda like the Eye Of The Tiger training sequences in the “Rocky” movies.

Here’s my top ten training tunes:

1- “Jump Around” – House of Pain

2- “Long Way To The Top” – AC/DC

3- “Lose Yourself” – Eminem

4- “Fat Bottom Girls” – Queen

5- “I’m Shipping Up To Boston” – Dropkick Murphy’s

6- “Enter Sandman” – Metallica

7- “Firestarter” – Prodigy

8- “Let’s Go Crazy” – Prince

9- “Baba O’Riley” – The Who

10- “If I Ever Leave This World Alive” – Flogging Molly

You might see some strange ones on my list but that’s the beauty of music…it impacts different people differently!

Thanks!

Ride the Rideau is a one-day road cycling adventure for people who are passionate about being active (and me…the non-cycler) and more importantly, the quality of life of their friends and loved-ones. The money we raise will go directly to support cancer research at The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. This is a chance to make a direct impact on improving patient care for our community.

I could really use your support on this one! Click HERE to get to my donation page. every cent counts.

First, it was the finger:

Then, it was the car:

Does bad luck come in threes? If it does…I’m staying home next week and wrapping myself in pillows!

Feel free to share some of your bad luck stories so at least we’re in this together!
