Hey Got Gamers!
We have another entertaining episode of Got Game podcasted for you, and as always you can catch it in the link below this sentence.

On this week’s episode we started off by looking over the catergories for Spike TV’s Video Game Awards. We were not able to get to them all because of time limitations, but some of those choices caused a bit of heated debates between the members of the Got Game Crew.
Later on in the show, we talked to a man who is trying to start up a museum for arcade machines, but we had to cut that interview down a little to fit in the show; therefore, if you’re looking for a little more information on the Replay Classic Arcade Museum, we suggest you check out the full version of the interview that Zack Cooper and Bryan Calhoun did with Gerald Darcy.

But before that we talked about a Japanese man who loves a video game character so much that he legally married her, and at that same time we promised to post the video we found of it on YouTube. Here is that video we promised you.
And before we signed off, we reviewed Little Big Planet for the PSP and some DLC for that unexpected smash hit Bolderlands, but you’ll have to listen to the show to find out what scores we gave those games.
Check out all that, and more on this edition of Got Game!

Borderlands was an amazing game, definitely the biggest surprise of the year for me gaming wise…and it even sold well too…its hard to find games these days with a new IP and actually sell well WHILE getting great reviews. the holy trinity.
- RandyAre Rinoa and Squall from FF8 still together?
If not, I’d love to propose to her.
She’s soooooooooooooooooo cute.
- Boothe (All Things)…
- RandyMy favorite game that I’m playing is Dragon Age:Origin. Such good storytelling. I’m suppose to get Modern Warfare 2 for Christmas. However I gotta believe I’m never going to get to it because the storytelling is really good.
In regards to the Rinoa comment. I agree with Randy
- Jushin“…”
well Dragon age will eventually end, and then Modern Warfare will steal every waking hours afterwards….Also look into getting Borderlands….so many good games this year….I’ve got a massive stack of games to get to and no time to get to them.
- RandyI hear that, Randy… although nothing’s been able to take AC2 outta my PS3 – even Borderlands and Modern Warfare 2.
Nothing.
This game is ridiculously long (see: TONS of bang for your buck) and very enjoyable.
Make sure when you do get around to it, you give it the time it deserves.
Oh, and Assassin’s DLC is due out in February.
More on that in the show on Sunday.
- Zack CooperI’ve started Assassins creed 2….but I’ve been trying to finish off Spec ops in MW2, just got 3 more missions….I will eventually get to the AC2…its on the radar….
- RandyWolfenstein just dropped to $30 so I’m a quarter of a way through that as well…pretty decent game….much better than the castle of wolfenstein on the xbox.
Hey guys,
I noticed the last podcast posted is from November. Any chance this week’s show will be posted?
By the way, I started playing Batman Arkham Asylum and I’m loving this game. Just beat the first scarecrow part. It may be GOTY for me (or it may be AC2– played up to the start of Venice so far). But in my mind no way UC2 gets GOTY because its such a safe game that takes few risks and relies way too much on killing thousands of enemies instead of letting Drake do his job description (treasure hunting and exploration– and the game shines when it does let you do that). I have a hard time taking the story of Uncharted 2 seriously because of that. On the other hand, this game really does put you in the role of Batman as a detective, puzzle solver and stealthy hero. The environments are gorgeous. I love how non-linear it is and how you can approach some of the areas in MANY different ways. Voice acting is awesome… I’m really really loving it. Its a smart game. In a way it reminds me of the point & click adventure games I was born and bread on.
I can’t believe how this developer (rocksteady) came out of nowhere and was able to be given the budget and was able to take the creative risks they did, but more power to them. They clearly have a few visonaries working for them who want to push the gaming medium forward instead of making dumb action games which relegate the mainstream’s view of video games as a child’s toy instead of an interactive experience.
And finally, I’d love to play against you guys in some NHL or other games on Xbox Live now that my 360 is in working order again– my gamertag is infinityBCRT
- AbdulHey Abdul,
You definitely bring up some valid points with Arkham. I’m not so sure if I’d agree with the non-linear aspect in the grand scheme of things, though.
I mean, you can attack a room in different ways, but as far as plot and sequence of events goes, it’s very similar to other titles.
You also raise a good point about Uncharted 2 and the lack of treasure hunting. That’s definitely one thing that I expect to be expanded on in the third installment.
However, even if the story was laid out like a movie, and you’re basically just connecting the dots, the way it all unfolded was incredible.
The voice-acting in both games set the bar nice and high.
I loved the combat in both games (UC2′s fighting was VASTLY improved over the first), but overall I’d say when it comes to taking down swarms of bad guys, it was much more fulfilling in Batman.
But Uncharted had so many more “OH MY GOD!?” moments, that the entire experience of it moved me more than any other game.
…however, I did just finish Assassin’s Creed 2 last night… and I’m not sure if there’s ANY other game that’s packed in as much value as that.
Anyway… I’d love to play you online.
I’m ZCooperstown on both 360 and PSN.
I’ll leave it up to the other guys to share their info.
be well, Abdul, and thanks for listening and sharing your thoughts.
(Sunday’s show should be up soon)
- Zack CooperDemonsOfTheFall
I’m always up for getting more achievements.
Yeah, Batman was a surprise for me. and I’ll agree with Zack, they make it appear like its an open ended game but as you progress through the story your pretty much following a linear path. Still a great game though, the easter eggs in that game was well implemented. and the riddles were a hoot to find.
Like I said before, this year has been loaded with quality games.
just finished up 1000/1000 Modern Warfare 2 and Tekken 6 last week…1125/1125 Borderlands the week before. Been on a role lately.
- RandyUmmm… that’s some serious achievement nastiness there, Randy.
I don’t know how you do it… but thumbs up to you!
- Zack CooperI’m married, I got a lot of time on my hands….
- RandyNo mention of Ace Combat Joint Assault? Anyway, I’m getting Valkyria Chronicles II, and Ace Combat.
