The latest update for Rock Band 2 comes with some brand new features.
Included is the highly anticipated “Rock Band Network Audition Mode”. It allows players to create and upload songs from their PC’S and then audition the songs in the game using the suite of song audition testing tools.
The update is out for the Xbox 360 and will soon be available for the PS3. According to Harmonix, the delay with the PS3 update has to do with its architecture and fixes for that specific version. No word if there will be one for the PS2 or Nintendo Wii.
Other new features are “Sort by Stars”. This feature allows the player to sort the songs by the song rating you’ve achieved on each song. You can also record your progress towards putting a gold star on every song in your library.
No more having to download one song at a time with the new “Background Downloading” feature. Now you can queue up as many songs as you want and download them all at once. A feature that is long over due and I’m sure all Rock Banders will love.
Xbox 360 Wireless microphone support, improved chord HOPO movements, and Velocity sensitivity are also included in the update.
