Got Game Show Blog – August 9th
Monday, August 10th, 2009
Two very important things happened in the world of football last Sunday. The first was the NFL hall of fame ceremony. The other (and the more important) one was our Madden NFL show; or as we like to call it, the Got Game podcast for Sunday, August 9th, 2009. And as luck would have it, you can find it below this sentence.

On this week’s show we obviously talked about Madden; however that was just the tip of the iceberg. We actually had the chance to touch on a whole range of topics that included, but that were not limited to:
- A California man getting arrested for modding consoles; and the role of piracy in our society
- the pain of having to patch games
- one company escaping the wrath of EA’s stranglehold on the NFL player license
Also, here is the picture that Zack was talking about on our latest show. We have not been able to confirm anything yet, but this picture sure does resemble the Backbreaker game that NaturalMotion has been designing for the PS3 and Xbox360.

In the end, one hour is never enough, so most weeks we end up filling our blog with bonus content that we couldn’t fit in the actual show. This week is no different as we had to pull an interview from the show because of time, so we’ve decided to put it here on the blog. Momin and I had a chance to talk with Sherry Myrow of GamerWidow.com about video game addiction; and she has some jaw dropping stories, warning signs, and possible solutions to share with you. That interview is located below this sentence.

Next week is our NHL special, and it could get interesting with EA’s coverboy, Patrick Kane, getting arrested for allegedly assaulting a cabbie for 20 cents.
We sit down with folks from both sides of the hockey coin – NHL 2K10 and NHL10.
Should be fun.
Just a heads up…
Friday, August 7th, 2009
Alright guys, so the dog days of summer are certainly heating up around these parts…
Just a quick heads up… This weekend’s show, we’ve got a HEAVY emphasis on Madden NFL 10, and a couple other football titles that are sprinkling out in the world (as in Backbreaker and NFL 2010 for your iPhone (or iTouch), the latter being a game that escaped EA’s stranglehold with an NFL Players License).
Additionally, next week could very well be the show you’ve all been waiting for… ever heard of NHL 10??
Yeah, we’re going to break that down some more with a couple of producers, and then pit it up against the gaining-ground competitor, NHL 2K10.
So there’s a lot brewing around Got Game… and you better believe we’re going to covering some Batman: Arkham Asylum as it’s release approaches toward the end of the month. The demo’s out today.
Enjoy… and talk soon!

Got Game Show – August 2nd
Sunday, August 2nd, 2009
If the concepts of awesome and entertaining got together and had a baby, it would probably look a lot like the Got Game podcast for Sunday, August 2, 2009; and as luck would have it, you can find something by that very name below this sentence.

On this week’s show we discussed a number of topics including: a therapist who plans to enter into WoW to find and cure video game addictions, EA’s attempt to cash in on the recent sucess of UFC: Undisputed, rumors of PS3 price drops, and more.
Comic-con also wrapped up last week, but we were unable to get down there, so we asked Victor Lucas (of EP Daily) to come on Got Game and talk about all the amazing attractions at this year’s convention.
In hindsight, we may have gotten a little greedy with Victor’s time. However, he was very nice and hung around until we ran out of questions. When we finally stopped recording, we realised that we had way to much audio to fit into this week’s show; so we cut it down to fit. Sadly, a lot of cool information was left on the cutting room floor, so we decided to post the whole thing to our blog. Below this sentence you can find the full interview with Victor Lucas.

Our 20 minute conversation included, but was not limited to the following subjects:
1. Victor’s thoughs about Comic-Con as a whole
2. Hollywood’s role at Comic-Con
3. Batman Arkham Asylum
4. The Iron Man and Iron Man 2 video games
5. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
6. James Cameron’s new Avatar project
7. DC Universe Online
8. Hurdles for MMO development
And because all gamers pass up on good games for one reason or another (I myself still haven’t played Resident Evil 5 because I haven’t had time) we review some games that have been out for a while, but that most people have pass over. Listen to our reviews to see what games deserve your second glance.
All that and more on this week’s podcasted edition of Got Game!
