Bachman Cummings

June 23rd, 2009 by JACK FM

Thank you so much Jack for the free tickets to Bachman Cummings concert last night.  It was a terrific concert!  My wife and I enjoyed our date night together.

Thanks again

Roger St. Jean

Freeloader

JACK FREELOADERS roll in style. We booked a JACK HUMMER to get from point A (the hotel) to point B (downtown harbour.) There was 17 of us in total heading out for dinner and we all fit nicely in the largest HUMMER in San Diego.

Sidenote: Maureen brought her sea horse to dinner and had it with her when we returned to the hotel.. she didn’t lose her sea horse :) Way to go Maureen.

It was such a nice surprise for everyone to ride in style in San Diego! What a good looking group. Here we are prior to dinner as we got on the Lord Hornblower. Such fun! If you are looking to celebrate a special occasion do it in style with a Hornblower Dinner Cruise!

The meal was fantastic! A complete three course meal that had as stuffed and rolling off the ship. We had a private room in the captain’s den which allowed us to go and visit the ship’s deck and see the captain.

After the dinner cruise, it was back to the hotel for the last night in San Diego!

We will be home soon Calgary.. soon!

I had heard so much about In-N-Out Burger that I had to go check it out for myself today. $5 got me a cheese burger, fries and a chocolate shake. One size for everything. Made fresh when you order by 1 of the 55 employees working!!

One more thing..

June 10th, 2009 by JACK FM

On my walk back from the beach I saw a young couple shaking their head in disgust. I heard them say “you can tell they aren’t from Cali.. look at how they park” and than I saw this sweet ride with the not so sweet parking job. FAIL

Surfs Up!

June 10th, 2009 by JACK FM

After those world famous tacos, I took a stroll over to Misson Beach (the other side of our hotel) to see some waves and surfer dudes. The two go hand in hand right. It was over-cast but there were still surfers “hanging 10??”

PS – I totally saw a dolphin in the ocean not 200 feet back. I tried to take a photo but it was harder than you would think. Ill try again tonight on the moonlight cruise or tomorrow’s dinner cruise.

Lunch = tacos

June 10th, 2009 by JACK FM

Quick geography lesson. San Diego is the most southern Californian city. It’s on the border of Mexico so you know the Mexican food in San Diego is going to be awesome.

I can now say with authority that it is indeed yum. I stopped in on this little taco stand on Misson Blvd only steps from our hotel. For $5 I got a meat burrito, cheese enchilada, beans and rice.. oh and a soda for an extra buck. Delicious.. best salsa ever. What a great way to start the trip. Sure.. 30 mins later I was looking for a public washroom. Correct that. A restroom. In the states they dont know what a washroom is… or Caesars! I knew I should have brought some Clamato.

Here I am greeted by a few of the San Diego winners checking out their view from “the tower”!

Our WestJet flight not only was awesome.. it was 30 mins early! I love when that happens.

On arrival in San Diego (humid and lovely San Diego) everyone was given their coveted gift bag. Oh yes.. that is a fly swatter. SCORE!

Our friends at Cloud 9 Shuttle picked us up and shuttled us off to the Catamaran Resort Hotel on San Diego’s Mission Bay. Enroute to the hotel everyone was given their pool toy. There were alligators, monkeys, hammers and a frog for our youngest traveler.frog.jpg

Les Swan (his name is so cool you have to use both the first and last name) the tallest from our group took a long time to blow up his crocodile. I think he is still working on it.
