We had a poll recently asking what the best thing about Canada is, and it was no surprise that our Plentiful Lakes came out on top with 47% of your vote.  Our lakes are both beautiful and healthy, which can be confirmed by the presence of the Shad Flies which can be found right here in North Bay.  Ask the business owners along Main Street or Lakeshore Drive as they are hosing them off of signs and walls…the Shads have been around a long time, but they don’t last all that long.  We thought we’d salute the Shads while they’re here.

This morning we talked to Dan Orr.  Dan teaches at Ecole Publique Odysee where his daughter Adele is a student.  Adele lives with Cystic Fibrosis and was recently diagnosed with Scoliosis.  Earlier this month she had surgery at London Children’s Hospital to correct her spine and made it back to North Bay this week to attend her Grade 8 graduation.  Adele is a real trooper – a girl who has been through alot but continues to live her life to the fullest.  Have a great summer Adele!

Here in Northern Ontario, we hope we never run into a big old creature on the highway.  I’m still reminded of the morning we had fishing guru Bob Izumi on the show with us and he told us that he had run into a moose on the way into town and totalled his vehicle.  Thankfully, Bob did not suffer any major injuries.  According to the caption for this video, it appears this police officer from Tennessee is alright too.

Summer wedding season has begun, but chances are there will be no wedding this summer as memorable as this one.  Watch the groom try to keep it together after his best man loses his pants!

We love music at my house! On occasion I like to break out the vinyl for my kids, so that they can fully appreciate Rock and Roll.  Although they enjoy a wide variety of formats, it’s always great to see them rock out to some hair bands.  My youngest daughter Summer loves Twisted Sister and actually knows the words to a few of their songs… check it out…
