This Saturday, I will once again have the pleasure of being the Celebrity Ride Captain for the Nipissing Motorcycle Ride For Dad.  An army of chrome and leather will leave the parking lot at Canadian Tire on Saturday morning at 10:30 am to raise funds and awareness for the fight against prostrate cancer.  You can still sign up and you don’t even need to ride a motorcycle.  Find out more at www.motorcycleridefordad.org  Of course it goes without saying that if you are a man 40 or older you should have a prostate exam every year, and ladies if your guy won’t go to the doctor, you can do your part by letting him know how important it is to you that he get a check-up.

You can also help the cause in a big way by stopping by our Fox Squeegee Event this Thursday, June 10th from 11:30am until 1:00pm at Mark’s Work Wearhouse.  We’ll wash your windshield and shine your hubcaps and rims in exchange for a donation to the Ride and everyone who comes by will get a ballot into the draw for a pair of wristbands for Voyageur Days in Mattawa.

Hope to see you there for a great cause!

Food and Fun

Each week we have the chance to reward local schools for their good deeds in the community with the Canadian Tire Junior Citizenship program, but Mitch and I had the chance to see the hard work first hand.  We had the opportunity to broadcast our morning show live from The Gathering Place last week while students from Debbie Seguin’s grade 8 class prepared crepes for a fundraising breakfast.

I must say I was impressed with how polite and enthusiastic these students were!  They are also the recipients for this weeks Free Pizza Zone, scoring pizza for the whole school this Friday.

It looks like Tom Cruise has slipped back into the make-up chair to bring us another incarnation of the hilarious character he played in the movie “Tropic Thunder”.  Here is a new MTV Movie Awards teaser featuring Les Grossman.

T-Ball kicks off

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

It’s that time of year, when kids and adults alike take to the fields.

My daughter starts T-Ball tonight, and is very excited…she tries to wear her pink helmet to bed at night!  One of the things I love most about North Bay is the ease with which we can get active.  With the many fields and trails, our kids don’t have to spend hours in front of the television.  Summer is a time for kids to meet new friends and practice team work, while getting some fresh air and exercise.

My daughter insisted I get freezies to enjoy after the game…I hope you have the chance to enjoy a cold one after your game!

Hopefully we don’t see any of this on the field
