I have to admit I got a real kick out this segment from MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann. I never did see the sketch that seems to be the prototype for guys like Glenn Beck. Check out the segment, including an interview with Dave Foley of Kids In The Hall here.

It is a sad time for me. A time so full of hope, cut short far too soon.
It is with great sorrow today that I tell you all of the loss of the Ottawa Senators.
It was game six. Saturday night. They came out like a freight train in the first. Held strong until about half way through the second. It all fell apart in the third.
If it weren’t for the spectacular performance of one Pascal Leclair, things would have been over a lot sooner. I will say this though, in my opinion, the Sens put forth a valiant effort (I know, there is no try only succeed in playoffs) with any luck, they’ll be able to get it done on the golf course…unless of course there happens to be refs officiating on the golf green…then they could be in trouble…I’m just saying…

Alex Ovechkin may be one of the most skilled players ever to play the game. I will give him that. The thing he really lacks though is class. Would Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr, Mario Lemieux or even Sid the Kid ever do something this dumb? Check out this video of Ovie snowing a child before the game began the other night. It’s a fact! Some people are gassier than others. While I know some folks that gas it up regulary, there are also those who claim to never pass gas at all. Hmmm! Do we believe them? Perhaps they are just better at sneaking away to expel it in private.
If you’ve been listening to the Fox for a few years you likely know that I have been accused of my fair share of flatulence. Ken Anderson actually coined the phrase, “Mitch Belanger, you gassy bugger!” Of course when you have that reputation, you also sometimes get blamed for the smells of others too. I’m just saying…
Last week I made a deal with Vicki. Every time I fart in the studio, I will give her five bucks – kind of a swear jar, but in this case we trade the f-bombs for farts and she has the chance to get rich. Somehow Vicki’s daughter got wind(pun intended) of our bet and was inspired to create a sign for the control room. The talents of Hailey are featured in this blog.
As for our bet? There has not been one discrepancy since. There goes that new pair of shoes for Vicki. Funny how things change when there is cash on the line. Time will tell if I will completely change my evil ways, but I’m trying.

“Is this real life?” Words that have earned a 7 year old hallucinating boy $100,000 so far. Last year, David DeVore became a hit on youtube after his dad posted a video of him freaking out from anaesthesia he received during a visit to the dentist.
The attached video which is less than two minutes long, has been viewed more than 56 million times with around 100, 000 new views each day. The family decided to cash in on the boys situation by selling shirts and stickers with the catchphrase “Is this real life?”
I hope the family saves some of the money…I have the feeling they’ll need it for therapy in the near future!

The pranksters were out yesterday at The Masters. A plane flew over Augusta National yesterday as Tiger Woods teed off at the Masters. The pilot was towing a banner that read: “Tiger: Did you mean bootyism?” It mocked his return to Buddhism. Tiger ignored the plane and nailed a perfect tee shot. Other banners read: “Sex Addict? Yeah. Right. Sure. Me Too!” and “We miss you Tiger! Deja Vu Showgirls.” Jim Miller of Air America Ariel Ads says each banner cost $1,200. “Keep your eyes open. They get better and better.” Tiger shot a 68 yesterday; his best first round score ever at the Masters.

I think most of us have memories of Science Fairprojects back in our school days. Some of us even got to blow things up back in the day. I recently had the chance to host the Regional Science Fair awards presentation and Vicki and I decided we would do our own science experiment to get in the spirit of things. Here is a video of us putting the Mentos/Coke theory to the test.
