Famous ghost photo

Monday, October 29th, 2007

THIS IS THE MOST FAMOUS GHOST PHOTO EVER!

Rev. Ralph Hardy, a retired clergyman from White Rock, took this now-famous photograph in 1966. He intended merely to take a picture of the elegant spiral staircase (known as the “Tulip Staircase”) in the Queen’s House section of the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, England. Upon development, however, the photo revealed a shrouded figure climbing the stairs, seeming to hold the railing with both hands. To us it seems faked, almost like a painting, but experts, including some from Kodak, who examined the original negative concluded that it had not been tampered with. It’s been said that unexplained figures have been seen on occasion in the vicinity of the staircase, and unexplained footsteps have also been heard.

Rod Stewart loves his Model Railroad

Friday, October 26th, 2007

ROD STEWART LOVES MODEL RAILROADING- He has fulfilled a lifelong ambition by appearing on the front cover of a model railroad magazine. Railroad hobby experts said he has created one of the best train sets they have ever seen. Rod spent 12 years making his special railroad, which measures 124 feet by 23 feet. He spent thousands of hours — and dollars — putting it together before sending pictures in to the model railroading magazine. When Rod sent in photos of his train set to Model Railroader, they decided to put it on the front cover. In an interview inside the magazine, Rod says, “It means more to me to be on the cover of Model Railroader than to be on the cover of a music magazine.”

DNA testing your teens?

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

This morning we told you the story of those teens who overdosed on ecstasy at Silver City this week. All were 13 and 14 years old. If you are a parent that needs to know if your teen is using drugs, this may be for you. You collect strands of you kids hair and ship them off to a lab in the States. For around $65, that sample will be tested for seven different drugs including ecstasy and marijuana. They do recommend you tell your kids you are doing it though. It’s all about trust right?

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

You may have heard a few parody songs of “Your Beautiful” by James Blunt. Well, now he’s changed the words to his own song to help kids everywhere learn their geography. You know you’ve made it when they ask you to star on Sesame Street! Have a listen to “My Triangle”.

OCEAN at Galey Farms – VIP Spooktacular

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

Thanks for everyone who came out to the Oceans VIP “Spooktacular” at Galey Farms last night! Vip Platinum Club members were treated to a evening of food and fun. The Crazy Train was a blast, we got lost in the Corn Maze and scared out of our wits in Carn-Evil. As you can see by the photos, we got into the spirit!

There is one thing that we just noticed. We want you click on the vampire photo and make it bigger. Now look at my right elbow. It’s either a camera trick or what ghost hunters call an “ORB”. Looks like a real ghost may have been following me around all night!!

THE IGGY STORY ISN’T OVER- Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s saga over Iggy, the dog they adopted then gave away to a friend’s family, is detailed in a set of emails posted online. The correspondence reveals the couple’s initial love for dog, their decision to give him away, and the shock expressed by pet-rescue agency Mutts & Moms at that development. A partner at Mutts & Moms, Marina Baktis, tells the couple that Iggy’s relocation constitutes “a betrayal of our trust” and a violation of the contract, to which de Rossi replies, “Your email is truly heartbreaking to many people.” If you would like to see the video of the dog being seized from the family, the police showing up and the fall out afterwards, click here! Could this be any more ridiculous?

We talked about the fact that the very first baby boomer has registered to collect her Social Security Benefits in the US. Kathleen Kirschling was born on January 1, 1946 and is considered the first American boomer. If you were born between 1946 and 1964 you may not want to visit the Boomer Death Counter! We know, it’s outrageous, it’s morbid, but a good time waster. By the way, the US government says their old age benefits will dry up by 2046. The Canadian government says that ours is good for the next 75 years!
