Police search for missing person

The Timmins Police are asking for the publics help in finding a missing person.
Police say 72-year-old Marcel Boisseneault went missing from the Timmins and District Hospital around 9 a.m. Sept. 29th.
Boisseneault did not return to the hospital for his daily medication that day.
Police say he could be in the Sudbury area.

BOISSONNEAULT is described as being 5’6″ tall, 150 lbs, short brown hair, brown beard and moustache, glasses, wearing a black ball cap, a black leather coat and either black or blue jeans. He also leans back and to his right when he walks which is very noticeable.

New tax credit for seniors

Seniors and will have a new tax credit if the Liberals are elected.
Liberal candidate Leonard Rickard says the Healthy Home Renovation Tax Credit will help seniors who live independently by covering some of the costs of installing essential devices like ramps and chairs lifts.
The tax credit covers 15 percent of up to ten thousand dollars per year and can be claimed by seniors or families who have seniors living with them.

Shania Twain talker pleads guilty

Shania Twain’s trial against a man accused of stalking her took a strange twist this morning.
The accused, Dr. John Palumbo announced he was changing his plea to guilty during twain testimony.
Palumbo was immediatley handcuffed and escorted out of the courtroom.
The 51-year-old Ottawa doctor is still being charged with criminal harrassment and breaching conditions to stay away from Twain.
No date has been set for the trial to continue
20-20 Strategic Plan update

Diversity, culture, communication, wise investments and addressing the lack of confidence in our city are the five main pillars of the 20-20 strategic plan.
The findings were presented at the Timmins Chamber of Commerce Annual general Meeting Wednesday.
Mayor Tom Laughren says it will take many partners in the community to get out of the planning stage an being implementing them.
Laughren added there is an estimated cost of 1 point 2 (m) million dollars over the next 10 years to get the initiatives off the ground.
Chamber of Commerce welcomes new President

The Timmins Chamber of Commerce officially welcomed their new president, Christine Leclair at their annual AGM Wednesday.
Leclair says she’s most excited to get the 20-20 strategic plan up and running.
She added, it’s the perfect time to step in as president because her background and education is in business planning.
Corey Courville Arrested

After issuing a Canada wide warrant,Timmins Police have arrested Corey Courville.
Courville was wanted on several charges, including robbery with a firearm, forcible confinement, uttering threats, and aggravated assault.
Courville turned himself into police Tuesday evening, and will be held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Dining For a cause

Proceeds from this year’s Dining for a cause will benefit the TDH Foundation, and the replacement of an 18 year old machine.
Executive Director Jean Pierre Nadon says proceeds from this years campaign will go towards upgrading their infant warmers for newborns.
Dining will take place at different restaurants on each Thursday in the month of October. They’re hoping to raise 18 thousand dollars.
