Simon Cowell reads my blog!

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Last night on Idol during his critique of Didi Benami he told the world! lol okay maybe I’m delusional but he did mention that he agrees with me that the singers on those “dancing shows” murder the songs.

In other reality show rantings…how the heck is Shannen Doherty the first celeb gone from Dancing with the Stars?! Really?! How did she not get the votes to stay?! She was nowhere near the worst dancer AND she was dancing for her father! For pete’s sake! And really Pam and Kate are still there?! And Buzz?! Can you say sympathy votes? I don’t really have any reason to watch now…but my votes are going to Chad…cause he’s adorable. Oh but a little humour in all my ranting: isn’t it kinda funny that Shannen’s partner got injured? No I’m not cruel and heartless. I love Mark Ballas but seriously Doherty’s partner got hurty lol.

Dancing with the Stars kicks off

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

Okay after the last season of Dancing with the Stars was over I admittedly kinda went into withdrawal lol. Now that it’s back I’m super excited (I even bypassed watching 24!)…just one thing: I forgot just how horrid the DWTS band makes the songs they dance to. Yikes didn’t miss that at all. Why can’t they just use the actual recording? Ah well moving along…I must say I called it (and likely wasn’t the only one).

Here’s a big shock: the figure skater and dancer did the best last night! Nicole dances for a living and Evan essentially dances on ice. Nicole is this year’s Maya and Evan is this year’s Donny.

So far I’m cheering for Shannen (it was so nice to see her dad there cheering her on), Chad, Buzz (of course. how can you not?), and Niecy I guess just cause she’s a nice real type of gal in Hollywood today.

Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough (25)
Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya (23)
Pamela Anderson and Damian Whitewood (21)
Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy (21)
Jake Pavelka and Chelsie Hightower (20)
Shannen Doherty and Mark Ballas (18)
Niecy Nash and Louis van Amstel (18)
Chad Ochocinco and Cheryl Burke (18)
Kate Gosselin and Tony Dovolani (16)
Aiden Turner and Edyta Śliwińska (15)
Buzz Aldrin and Ashly Costa (14)

And the Mirrorball trophy goes to…

Donny Osmond is the new owner of the Mirrorball trophy and winner of the ninth season of “Dancing with Stars”.

Donny had been a consistent fan favourite and beat the season’s top scorer Mya to win the title.

Donny had a strong finish, scoring his first perfect tens of the season Monday night.

He yelled “I did it!” after the final results were announced.

Mya says she’s “so happy to have made it to the finals.”

Third place went to Kelly Osbourne.

I want Kelly to win!

Alright here’s why I want Kelly Osbourne to win Dancing with the Stars over Donny Osmond and Mya. Donny is HOW OLD?! He was whining (or joking whatever) about his age last night and that made me think “wow he’s got that many years experience over both Mya and Kelly. Not fair.” And well Mya…she’s a singer and dancer by profession.

Kelly came into this with no experience whatsoever. She overcame so many things and is so genuinely happy that her hard work has gotten her into the finals. It’s such an inspiring story. I don’t know what it is but she just makes me cry every time she dances. She has really matured and grown over the years since the Osbournes and I would love to see her rewarded for her hard work and enthusiam…rather than handing the trophy to someone who is maybe better technically but has tonnes of experience with dancing and it wouldn’t mean as much to them.

I’m done ranting now…let’s just watch Kelly and Louis’ freestyle from last night :)

Dancing with Susan Boyle?

Monday, November 9th, 2009

Susan Boyle
Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle is back in the U.S., this time for an appearance on this week’s Dancing With The Stars. Reports say Susan will perform I Dreamed a Dream, the song from the Broadway show Les Miz that skyrocketed her to fame last April on Britain’s Got Talent. Pro dancers Tony Dovolani and Chelsie Hightower will perform on the ballroom dance floor as Susan sings.

A shocker on Dancing with the Stars

Olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin was in over her head on “Dancing with the Stars.”

Although the judges thought she’d done a great job on the dance floor, fans voted her off last night.

The judges were shocked not only to see her go, but to see former scoreboard leaders, Aaron Carter, Joanna Krupa and their partners in the bottom three once viewer votes were tallied.

Kelly Osbourne says her foot still hurts so much, she can’t wear shoes.

But Osbourne says she glad it’s not so bad that she’ll have to drop out of the competition.

Nine celebrity dancers remain in contention for the mirrorball trophy.

That number will get a lot smaller soon. Next week, the double eliminations start and Taylor Swift performs.

Derek Hough not dancing tonight?

Monday, October 19th, 2009

Derek Hough
Another dancer could be filling in for Derek Hough tonight on “Dancing With the Stars,” unless he has a miraculous recovery in time for the show.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy stepped in late last week to work with Hough’s dance partner, Joanna Krupa, because Hough was in pain.

On his Twitter page, Hough says he thinks he’s had the flu.

On Thursday, he had a high fever so he went to the doctor who put an I-V in his arm for two hours.

On Friday, Hough said he felt better.

Then, he explained that “better” doesn’t mean “great”.

He put up a good fight…

The Ultimate Fighting champ won’t be the Dancing with the Stars champ.

Chuck Liddell put up a good fight but he was voted off “Dancing With the Stars” last night.

The martial arts expert says he gave it a shot, but the judges felt he was a better fighter than a dancer.

Next week, the competition steps up a notch.

Each of the remaining 10 celebs has to perform two dances instead of just one.
