Jammin’ in Jamaica; Day 3
January 19th, 2012 by chajjar
No better way to start the day then drinking fresh coconut milk.
Apparently there are different types of coconuts, because they tasted much different then we expected them to.
Jammin’ in Jamaica winner Dave Thomas and his guest Laurie stopped by to chat and joined us in the coconut milking.

Have you dreamt about scuba diving or snorkeling? It’s all possible in Jamaica and there are some amazing creatures along the reef. Not to mention the endeavor is completely fashionable!
Next was high tea. The Sandals Royal Plantation Resort is quite unique and the staff took us over for scrumptious delicacies and tea. We had a hard time keeping our pinkies out of the air.

The highlight of the day was Tappanyaki. Talk about dinner and a show! Tex, the masterful chef prepared the oriental style meal right before our eyes while singing, dancing and playing trivia (I got the most answers right.) He had one of the biggest personalities we’ve ever seen.

It’s amazing how busy we’ve been all week and there are so many other things to do that we can’t even touch upon.
And to think this could be you!!! There’s still time to get your ballots it for the raffle using your EZ Rock Platinum VIP Points!
Jammin’ in Jamaica; Day 2
January 17th, 2012 by chajjar
Whew!
Day two and we’ve been doing so many fun things, we need a nap! Good thing there’s a beach full of comfortable reclining chairs we can lay out on to kill two birds with one stone. Nap and tan!
The highlight of the day was the catamaran cruise. We’ve never been on one of these things and it was quite the experience.
When we were getting on the boat, one woman was staying behind. When I asked her why, she told me it’s because she gets sea sick. I’m not going to lie, the first thing that came to mind was “debbie downer!” I’ll tell you what though, ten minutes into the ride I could understand why she didn’t come. My face went white and I was feeling really rough.
But the thing is, you don’t have to sit out if you tend to get the motion sickness. The trick is to sit at the front of the boat on the mesh. It’s a wild ride, and once I made my way there it was an amazing experience.
People were ranting and raving about how much fun they had on the cruise. It was a dance party on water to say the least.

A good, helpful tip… if you are ever going on a boat on a windy day… do NOT wear a billowy dress. Recipe for disaster. Luckily I managed to keep mine from flying over my head…Moving along.
Who doesn’t like a romantic walk on the beach at night? Even if you are alone.

Audra wasn’t alone for long though… she had a close encounter with a shark.

Could you imagine yourself on the gorgeous beaches of Jamaica?! If you can, I would suggest you hurry and get qualified to be Jammin’ in Jamaica!
Tomorrow we’ll be having high tea at the Sandals Plantation, then it’s off for dinner tappenyaki style! Snorkeling is also on the agenda for tomorrow.
Until then, “Di fus wata hog pass him wash himself” (Which is a popular Jamaican saying meaning “Make use of the opportunities that comes your way first” Aka, use your EZ Rock Platinum VIP Points to qualify for Jammin in Jamaica!)

Jammin’ in Jamaica; Day 1
January 16th, 2012 by chajjar
Wow.
One word that sums this experience up perfectly, (and this could be you!!)
Saturday was day one, a great day of relaxing on the beach. Hot, sunny for the most part and boy do you ever get pampered here!
We should all give it up for Audra, who is pretty much scared of *everything*. I say this with much love and respect because she’s really stepping out of her comfort zone to do things she normally wouldn’t. She’s even trying new foods! And let me tell you about the food. Fine Dining or casual, it’s all delish!
Audra and I have never been anywhere exotic and Jamaica really is a great place to start. On the menu today is the sunset cruise on a catamaran. We’re also hoping to get some snorkeling in, but the waters are pretty choppy so we’re going to have to wait and see.
This morning was our first live broadcast from the beach. Granted we get there when it’s dark, but that just means we get to enjoy the sunrise over the ocean. 13 stations in total are set up on the beach, and come 9 o’clock the Sandals staff brought us all Sex on the Seaside. No, I’m not being lewd, that’s the name of a delicious fruity drink.
Brian Roper is the GM of Sandals in Ocho Rios and is also my husband for the week. Every week of broadcasts he takes on a new wife, mourns for a day before the new group shows up and selects another. (at least, that’s the running joke.) We spoke with him this morning and that man can make us laugh!!
We hope you tune in tomorrow morning for more games, more fun and more chances to qualify to be here in Jamaica having this much fun!
Until then, One one coco full basket! (Which is a Jamaican proverb meaning “every little bit adds up!” Your EZ Rock Platinum VIP points could add up to get you to Jamaica! CLICK HERE for all the deets!)
Xoxo,
Christina

Jamaica bound in 1 sleep!
January 13th, 2012 by chajjar

Whew! Friday is finally here. This week has been a whirlwind of excitement, nerves and preparations.
We’re going to JAMAICA!!!
If you’re jealous, well you should be! Have you seen the Sandals Resort we’re staying at?
Don’t worry; Audra and I are going to be drawing another big winner for Jammin’ in Jamaica on Friday, January 20th. CLICK HERE for details!
I’ve never been to a sunshine destination so it might be safe to say I am way over packed. (Or will be when I actually get it done…) So many people are telling us “all you need are a few things!” Psht, yea right! I don’t know what I’m going to feel like wearing and when! I must bring everything remotely summery! On top of that, I have to bring at least 5 pairs of shoes. That might sound like a lot but its 2 pairs of flip flops, one pair of wedge heel sandals and a fancy pair for fancy nights and a pair of sneakers. (oops, that’s 6 isn’t it?) Houston, we’re going to need a bigger suitcase!
As my co-star Audra would say “we’re such girls!” I’m not going to deny that.
Anyways, gotta go paint my toe nails!
Tomorrow we fly out from Timmins. We’ll let you know how beautiful Jamaica is!
xoxo ~Christina
P.S. I’ve been getting ready for months now by tanning at Bermuda Tan on Balsam. I love love LOVE tanning! It’s so warm and toasty and is a good “light therapy” in the middle of blah winter.

10 PIECES OF ADVICE TO BE PASSED ON TO YOUR MUM, YOUR DAUGHTERS OR GRANDDAUGHTERS, NIECES, AUNTS, GIRLFRIENDS, ETC.
1. Don’t imagine you can change a man – unless he’s in diapers.
2. What do you do if your boyfriend walks out? You shut the door.
3. If they put a man on the moon – they should be able to put them all up there.
4. Go for the younger man. You might as well, they never mature anyway.
5. Men are all the same – they just have different faces, so we can tell them apart.
6. Best way to get a man to do something is to suggest he is too old for it.
7. Love is blind, but marriage is a real eye-opener.
8. The children of Israel wandered around the desert for 40 years. Even in Biblical times, men wouldn’t ask for directions.
9. If he asks what sort of books you’re interested in, tell him cheque books.
10. Remember a sense of humour does not mean that you tell him jokes, it means that you laugh at his.
