After 4 straight wins on the road, the Wolves dropped two in a row this weekend..losing 5-4 to Brampton Sunday after a controversial penalty shot goal in overtime and 3-1 to Mississauga yesterday.
The losses leave Sudbury alone in 5th spot in the Eastern Conference, 3 points behind Barrie.
Michael Sgarbossa extended his point scoring streak to 13-games by scoring his 40th goal of the year.
He’s also tied for 2nd in league scoring with 80-points.
Overtime Penalty Shot Ends Game in Brampton, Wolves Lose

It came down to a penalty shot Sunday afternoon as the Sudbury Wolves lost 5-4 in overtime to the Brampton Battalion.
Michael Sgarbossa scored 3 goals and added an assist while Josh Leivo chipped in with three assists.
The Wolves are now 4 points behind Brampton for 3rd in the Eastern Conference.
The local juniors continue their road trip with another afternoon match up. This time they’ll face the 9th place Mississauga St-Michaels Majors.
Game time is set for 2pm.
Sudbury’s Devon Kershaw Wins Again

Sudbury’s Devon Kershaw has done it again.
The 29-year old took the goal medal in the men’s sprint competition at a cross-country World Cup event today in Poland.
With two bronze this season to go with his two golds – and a fourth-place finish in the gruelling Tour de Ski — Kershaw is ranked third overall in the world.
4th Place Wolves Take On 2nd Place Niagara At Home

The Sudbury Wolves have a tough test at home tonight when they host Niagara.
The Ice Dogs are 2nd in the O-H-L East and have twelve N-H-L drafted players in their lineup.
Sudbury has a chance to take over 3rd spot in the East.
Puck drops at 7:35pm.
After tonight the club is away for five-straight games.
Wolves Win Bell Challenge Cup & Take 4th Spot In OHL East

The Wolves took over sole possession of 4th place in the East last night by downing the Soo 5-3 at the Sudbury Arena.
Michael Sgarbossa scored once and added 2-assists to extend his point streak to ten games and move into a tie for 3rd place in league scoring.
Joel Vienneau earned 1st star honours by stopping 34 shots.
The win means the Wolves captured the Bell Challenge Cup.
That award is given to the club that has a better season record against it’s Northern rival.
Sudbury is now just a point behind third-place Brampton in the OHL East, with two games in hand.
The Wolves hosts Niagara tomorrow night.
Wolves Host SSM, With Silk Back In Line-up

The Wolves can grab sole possession of 4th place in the O-H-L East tonight when they host the Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds.
Sudbury is tied with Barrie at 62 points, only three behind Brampton and the local juniors have played three less games than the Battalion.
Brody Silk will be back in the lineup this evening after serving his 12-game suspension.
The Wolves will try to earn back-to-back home wins after beating Sarnia 5-3 Saturday.
Local School Gets National Attention For P.E. Program

A school in New Sudbury is getting national honours for its curriculum to teach physical fitness.
Ernie Checkeris Public School, on Agincourt Avenue, recently received the National Diamond Recognition Award from Physical and Health Education Canada.
The honour is given to schools that provide exceptional physcial education programs with regular daily instruction throughout the school year.
Ernie Checkeris Public School not only has a regular physical education program and daily physical activities but it also provides intramural sports for its students.

Wolves Break Home-Ice Losing Streak

Around 5-thousand fans watched the Wolves snap their 6-game home ice losing streak last night, as the local juniors downed the Sarnia Sting 5-3.
Michael Sgarbossa led the Sudbury attack with 2 goals and an assist.
The Wolves are back in action Wednesday night at home against the Soo Greyhounds.
