A workplace accident from September 2008 in Field, east of Sudbury has left two Chelmsford construction companies and their Director facing hefty fines.
A North Bay court fined Belanger Construction and R.M Belanger Limited a total of $290,000 for violations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Ronald Belanger must pay $10,000 for failing to make sure the companies complied with the regulations.
A worker suffered head and leg injuries after falling from a pier while taking apart a guardrail system.
Court heard how the victim and three others were not protected properly and didn’t have the right equipment.
