The MNR has updated its Restricted Fire Zone map.
It still includes areas in the Northeast like Sudbury, Manitoulin, Espanola, North Bay, Temagami and Algonquin Park.
It’s also added parts of Muskoka, where the fire danger rating is still extreme and a fire ban remains in place.
Officials are reminding everyone that the fire ban means there should be no outdoor fires for any reason — and absolutely no fireworks.
The reminder comes after a bush fire in Muskoka’s Milford Bay this week forced 50 homes to be evacuated.
Fire and police officials say it’s likely there was a human element to the blaze, but there’s no direct evidence linking it to a specific person.
A fire ban remains in effect in many areas of the northeast, Algonquin Park and Muskoka.
