The 32-year-old St Charles man at the centre of the animal cruelty case connected to the Buddy The Hero Dog, is expected back in Sudbury court today.
Simeon Smith is charged with four counts of Animal Cruelty under the OSPCA Act.
On March 6th a German Shepherd was rescued from the side of the road in St Charles, after he had been shot in the face several times.
He died three days later.
If found guilty, Smith could face two years in jail, a 60-thousand dollar fine or a lifetime ban on owning an animal.
