Caroline Ouellette scored the overtime winner 1:50 into the extra period.
Rebecca Johnston and Tessa Bonhomme celebrated the win… The first since the 2007 World Championships.
The American squad was considered the favourite after a very convincing 9 – 2 win over the Canadians to open the tournament.
