Ontario Provincial Police are launching a spring safety blitz this weekend, telling drivers to buckle up or face steep fines.
The week-long campaign starts tomorrow with officers also focusing on child restraints, making sure
children are properly strapped in and their seats correctly installed.
Anyone who fails to buckle up faces a $240 fine and two demerit points.
More than 29,000 charges for seat-belt offenses were laid in 2011, up by nearly 3,000 from 2010.
