A 23-year-old man from Wikwemikong on Manitoulin Island was killed late Sunday night in New York State when his vehicle was washed away by floods from Hurricane Irene.
Police say Mikita Fox and an American woman were in a car crossing a bridge when the vehicle was swept away.
The bridge over the Great Chazy River in Altona, NY had been partially washed out.
The driver had failed to notice the damage before the vehicle went over.
The two bodies were found downstream, Monday.
