Northern Ontario is going to help lead the growth of both the Ontario and Canadian economies in the long run.
That was the message Ontario Finance Minister Dwight Duncan brought to a Chamber of Commerce luncheon in Copper Cliff today.
Duncan touched on a number of topics including the HST.
He says despite what the opposition says, the government is helping residents deal with a number of challenges including higher hydro rates because of the HST.
Duncan says the Northern Energy Rebate will benefit 250-thousand families in Northern Ontario.
Also addressed was the Far North Planning Act.
The Minister says Northern communities will be consulted as it moves forward calling it a necessary part of the process.
Duncan says that it will help eliminate a lot of the confusion being talked about by the opposition.
