Despite a 5-month long strike and other problems in the local mining sector, Sudbury’s Mayor says the city fared well in 2009.
John Rodriguez says council is working to rebuild the city by investing in projects which will come to fruition in 2010 and with those that helped improve the economy over the past year.
The city was also able to take advantage of federal and provincial government stimulus funding to do infrastructure throughout 2009.
He says over the coming year residents can look forward to the opening of new long term care homes, affordable housing units, retail businesses and more work on roads like Regent Street.
Plus Rodriguez plans on running for mayor again next November.
