Local thrill-seeker Meagan McGrath officially takes off on her next adventure this morning provided the weather holds.
Thirty two year old McGrath is being flown to Hercules Inlet in Antarctica today to begin a 11-hundred km, 45 day solo journey to the South Pole.
Armed with supplies, a couple safety beacons and two satellite phones she will otherwise be alone and unassisted.
