Former Sault Tribe police chief Fred Paquin – having pled guilty to fraud charges over the summer – has been sentenced to a year in jail, plus two years supervision – and ordered to reimburse the federal government $231,000 for the misuse of funds that had been granted to his department during the period of 2002-08.
