The 40th snowman to be burned in as many years by Lake Superior State University received a stay of execution. The snowman can thank the Sault, Michigan Fire Department as they judged it to be too windy today to allow the open flames outdoors. The snow burning tradition at LSSU has only been postponed a couple of times over the 40-year history and was cancelled once back in ’92 due to a student protest but was brought back the following year. Plans are to try again on Monday at noon.
