This is one of the worst cases of bad refereeing I have ever seen. I’m excited for March Madness, which begins next week. Leading up to the tournament, of course, there are other tournaments that determine important things, like seeding and brackets and who gets in. One of those tournaments is the Big East tournament, where the winner gets an automatic spot in the NCAA Championship. That will not be Rutgers this year, after several blown calls in the final 13 seconds of their game against St. Johns.
After it was pointed out that these two refs had obviously decided to stop officiating in the final 13 seconds of the game, they both decided to stop officiating completely for the rest of the tournament. That’s probably in the best interests of whoever plays St. John’s next. Which won’t be Rutgers.
