Heat Scorch Raptors
Wednesday, April 18th, 2012
Wednesday April 18 2012 – 11:14pm Eastern – Toronto, ON
That was a 2nd half to forget!
No Bosh … no Wade … No problem!
Miami took advantage of an undermanned Raptors squad (Calderon, Kleiza, Bargnani, Bayless) and wiped out a close 1st half with a DOMINANT 2nd half.

Back home in a HURRY thanks to our ‘Kobe Bryant’ of pilots, Captain Murray!
But before we left Atlanta, Paul Jones and I had a chance to recap the Raptors dominant win over the Hawks:
—–
A big shout-out to our cameraman for this #SmithAndJones VLOG (the man you heard say “go” at the beginning, haha) … Associate Producer of the Raptors television broadcasts, Chris Phillips.
After winning wire-to-wire tonight … we’ll see if Toronto can repeat that performance when they see the Hawks again on Monday night at the ACC. Jonesy and I will be on the air at 7pm.
Have a good one

Raptors Deep-Sixered
Wednesday, April 11th, 2012
Wednesday April 11 2012 – 11:59pm Eastern – Toronto, ON
Last week the Raptors held Philly to only 7 points in the 4th QRT and Toronto walked out of the City of Brotherly Love with its third-straight win.
Tonight, Dwane Casey’s crew had the tables turned as the Sixers handed the Raps their 4th straight loss and left T.O. with a blowout win after a dominant 4th.
For more on the game, check out the latest #SmithAndJones video recap:
———-
Jonesy and I will be back on the air with the Raptors and Celtics at 7pm on Friday.
*SPECIAL NOTE* – we will NOT be on Sportsnet 590 the FAN that night. Be sure to tune in to AM610 for all of that action on Friday.
Toronto COULD be playing without Jose Calderon (eye), Linas Kleiza (knee), and Andrea Bargnani (calf) for that tilt against Boston. Calderon has now taken 7 stitches to 2 separate gashes on his right eye in the last seven days, Kleiza is day to day with soreness, and Bargnani is scheduled for an MRI and further testing/evaluation on Thursday.
My gut says Calderon could/should play…Kleiza is 50/50…and Bargnani is likely a no-go (and COULD (sooner than later?) be shut down for the year.
We’ll see…’cause there’s a lot of time to figure this out before Friday’s 7pm tip. A lot can happen!
Have a good one folks.

Pacers Drop Raptors
Tuesday, April 10th, 2012
Tuesday April 10 2012 – 12:24am Eastern – Toronto, ON
The Pacers took advantage of a Raptors team that was missing its top scorer … jumping out to an early lead and never looking back.
Though Toronto was able to slice a 16-point Indy advantage down to as little as 2, the absence of Andrea Bargnani was apparent as the Raps simply couldn’t get over the hump.
This was the 24th game where Dwane Casey’s crew has gone to the final minute of the game with the deficit in the game being plus or minus 5 points for T.O. (but the overall record in those games now stands at 6-18).
For more on this tilt, including the 4th quarter heroics of Linas Kleiza, check out the latest #SmithAndJones recap that was record IN INDY before flying back to Toronto:
———-
Be sure to check out our post-game interview with Leandro Barbosa (Pacers) who has a lot of great things to say about the fans and the organization in T.O.

The Raptors next game is Wednesday…when they host the Philadelphia 76ers.
Have a good one folks

Game Highlights – Raptors @ Pacers:
Raptors Thunderstruck
Sunday, April 8th, 2012
Sunday April 8 2012 – 9:42pm Central – Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Mid-third quarter … Jose Calderon hits a 3-ball to pull the Raptors to within 3 at 58-55. Thunder coach Scott Brooks burns a timeout and Toronto is going punch for punch with one of the top teams in the NBA.
Then the wheels fall off.
Toronto loses to OKC 91-75 and #SmithAndJones broke it all down in their latest recap:
———-
Toronto now heads to Indianapolis for the back to back against the Pacers on Monday.
We’ll update Andrea Bargnani’s status as soon as we get word.
Have a good one folks … Happy Easter.
