The Raptors have a good nucleus. They have to sign Bayless next year and decide on what they want to do. No more excuses fans are tired of losing seasons.
- kiddaa magazinewhat’s that noise,,, its the culture changing at the ACC,,go raps go
- williecanatefanWhy attack the “tank nation “constantly? .
It was the GM that said this year was not about wins and losses, not the fans .
Most fans wanted Raptors to bring in better free agents in the off season and to have a better team THIS season and LAST-(22-60) season.
Just as the hockey media is placing the blame on their GM, maybe that’s where blame should go with the Raptors.
This 19-35 team is BC’s creation, not the fans.
- Chasnot even sure what you’re saying Chas.
the record and the tank are not one in the same.
‘tank nation’ is those that WANT this team to lose … every night … as much as possible.
the record is a product of the time winning OR losing — whether they’re ‘good’ or ‘bad’
2 different issues. so i don’t understand your point
- Eric SmithBottom line, in a Salary cap league to get good you have to be really bad for a few years to obtain talent.
- To TankerRaps want a top 5 pick look at the stats there’s a huge drop off after 5. Good to see they are trying which is critical moving forward. Hopefully the sched will give us a nice losing streak to playoff teams next week and we drop back into the bottom 5
@ To Tanker – your statement is only partially correct.
You wrote: “Bottom line, in a Salary cap league to get good you have to be really bad for a few years to obtain talent.”
While I agree that being “really bad” certainly provides management with an opportunity to rebuild using high draft picks, it certainly doesn’t guarantee anything.
Teams still must have a General Manager that has the skillset to properly build a winning franchise. To find a perfect example of a losing team with a GM incapable of finding success, look no further than our own Raptors. Arguably, this team has stunk for the past 5 years, yet the Raps’ GM has done almost nothing to build a team that will compete to take deep runs in the NBA playoffs.
Yes, finishing in the bottom 10 does bring high draft picks. But, if your favourite team’s GM is an underachieving, overpaid, self-adoring pantload, don’t stay up at night waiting to purchase playoff tickets.
Please, please, please MLSE: get rid of this failure!
