Hey Eric;

Great game all around, wish caulderon got more praise from the coach and the fans, if he's traded he will be missed as he's playing elite basketball right now, hanging with rondo and paul in the pg catagory. team defence is better but kobe has made a career of winning in crunch time, and losing by a basket means your in the game-agree that rasual butler shouldn't have been in the game, as gary forbes is a better player offensively and defensivley and thus should be given more minutes, but coach casey seems intent on letting him and alabi ride the bench-should give both players some time on the floor-even garbage mins would help alabi's development-great job as always guys-thanks.

I have to wonder if the situation was reversed, that is, L.A. had the ball out of bounds - would 5 seconds have been called or would they get the timeout? The NBA gives preference to the NBA stars and top teams rather than call the game strickly by the rules. How many times have we heard commentators say that "you have to earn the respect" or that once you are a star you will get the respect, but at this stage, the player hasn't earned the respect of the referees yet (and hence won't get the call they deserve). Games could be more competitive if referees called the rules irrespective of who was involved.

I know no one was really open but why does coach Casey always use Rasual to put the ball in play in critical situation late in the game? Rasual has been warming the bench all game long i.e. DID NOT EVEN GET PLAYING TIME! The team was down by 2, 4s left in the 4th Quarter & Rasual was up to put the ball in play? Make no sense. What's so special about him that he gets to do this? This wasn't the first time coach put him in just to inbound the ball in critical situations and he did not get the favorable outcomes for the Raptors several times.

The ref got the call right. Rasual had plenty of time before he finally decided to call a timeout. I was actually screaming to call a timeout several times about 3 seconds after he got the ball, because I knew that ball was not going anywhere. It's not hard to judge whether you can put the ball inbound or not even without the ref counting out loud.

But yea, what's with coach and making Rasual Butler the designated "ball inbounder" during critical time/play?
