I haven’t been a fan of much he has done…and, most of his moves have either been sideways or completely failed. To sum up his career in TO, he has been a huge failure…especially when considering his cache (much of it self-inflicted due to his arrogant, patronizing personality) and huge salary.

Regarding financial flexibility — I’m sorry, my friend, but it means nothing. BC has had all of this before and done nothing with it. And, good players simply do not want to go play for losing organizations. Eric has said it a million times…and he’s 100% correct. Sure, you’ll convince the odd Turkoglue, with an overpayment, to come play for a few months…but, eventually the losing sucks, and the player gets bored and uninspired.

I won’t count any blessings. There’s no reason to. This team has been terrible for nearly it’s entire existence. So, why be grateful for the current situation? I have zero faith Colangelo can transform this team into a winner. Zero faith.

One thing we should all be thankful for is that this team DIDN’T come 7th or 8th. That would have been the nail in the coffin. At least, MLSE is being forced to taste some truth and attempt another rebuild. The last thing this team needs is another 14th overall pick, and a first round loss.

I wasn’t a fan of Bosh being the main guy to build around. AND I’m not a fan of building around Bargs. I can see Derozan leaning towards a TMAC type game but he needs to develop that 3pt shot. So, given that all these All Stars have grouped together, who are the Raps supposed to get if not by the draft. Mind you, they say this is a weak draft. Also, given that the CBA has no certainty of how it will play out, don’t you think rebuilding this team now than later is the way to go because you are saving tons of money. Just look at the Bobcats, their franchise has lost a significant amount of profit so they say, therefore, shedding all these high priced contracts is smart. Do it now, and start rebuilding.

I know you hate BC, blah blah blah, but give credit where its due. He has made this franchise flexible financially. Who are you going to get as a replacement GM?? What could be worst is a Detroit type situation. So count your blessings. IMO, this Raps could have been a 7th or 8th seed if the injury bug didn’t happen so soon.

The only reason the Raps would have made zero deals at the deadline (besides the relatively meaningless deal done yesterday) is that Colangelo is no longer running the ship.

I’m sure his hands are being tied by MLSE. If he had had his own way, he’d have made a number of deals…even if they were smaller transactions. But, the way he spoke about the team’s reluctance to make any moves suggests to me he is no longer in charge.

Thank god.

Great trade by Coangelelo; Johnson can play and he’s hasn’t been given a proper oppertunity, wish the raptors would sign reggie evans long term, he’s a better version of charles oakley and less opinionated to boot, but best rebounder on the raptors next to amir johnson. Fianially the mlse management must sign coangelo long term, he is a great gm, better than his predeccesors and he’s wiped the slate clean and rebuilded in a season, which given the fiscal restraints of next season-no cba agreement should be given merit. P.s Kudos for yourself and jonsey for an exemplary job done all year, great post game shows and commentary, always worth listening too, the team will get better in the future, stay postive, Go raps GO.

Not only did BC clearly evade every important question the Bobcat posed (at McCown made it very clear that our GM was feeding the listeners his usual garbage), but the host clearly stated he is nearly convinced Colangelo is history.

His feeling (for those who didn’t listen) is that if BC was, in fact, returning…he would have been resigned by now. He conceded, of course, that there is still a chance BC returns, but that he didn’t feel it would happen, based on his lameduck status this late into the season.

I agree, and can only hope his hunch is correct. Generally speaking, coaches and GMs — particularly well paid ones, like our beloved manager — don’t sit through the last season of their contract…without having a new one drawn up.

Needless to say, Colangelo has shown no ability to build a winner; not a clue as to how to build a champion. So, I wasn’t at all surprised to hear Bobcat’s candid theory on Colangelo’s contract status.

As for the interview, it was ridiculous. More of the usual crap-spewing from BC. He basically said nothing. And, McCown clowned about, obviously tongue-in-cheek throughout the entire interview (which he is a master at!).
