Friday January 15 2010 – 10:50pm Eastern – New York, NY
Raptors @ Knicks

112-104, Raptors (Toronto now 20-20)
“Smith and Jones” Player of the Game:
DEMAR DEROZAN
19 points
4/8 FG
11/14 FT
“Alice Fazoolis” Player of the Game:
ANDREA BARGNANI
24 points
12 rebounds
9/13 FG
5/6 3PT FG
Shout-out to the Knicks:
DAVID LEE
25 points
14 rebounds
9 assists
11/22 FG
Stats that stood out:
- Points in the Paint: 44-34, Knicks
- 2nd Chance Points: 13-0, Knicks
- Fast Break Points: 9-8, Raptors
- Toronto led by as many as 28 points
- DeRozan’s 11 FT makes and 14 FT attempts were both career highs
- The Raptors are now 11-0 when DeRozan scores in double figures
- Hedo Turkoglu led Toronto in scoring in the 4TH quarter (8 points)
- Al Harrington had 24 points in the 2nd half (31 total for the game)
Thumbs Up:
- Toronto led from beginning to end. The Knicks never had a lead. In fact, the game was never even tied (other than 0-0 of course). And though New York went on a couple of runs – and controlled the pace for most of the 2nd half – the closest they would get was 8 (which equates to a 3-possession game). That’s still pretty solid overall for T.O.
Thumbs Down:
- When the Raptors were sputtering a bit in the 2nd half, the team fell in the love with the jumper again and stopped going inside / attacking the hoop
Smith Says:
- “A solid road win for a team desperate to get back to that .500 mark. And how ’bout Andrea Bargnani … doing it AGAIN. It’s fun watching him come out of his shell more and more this season.”
Jones Says:
- n/a
Keep the 3-ball Streak Alive (900 games and counting):
- The Raptors were 12 of 22 from 3PT range
Next game:

Wow, how about ANDREA BARGNANI!
- Raps FanHe played great today and imagine if BC didn’t sign him! Then we would have loss both big men! And a team that ANDREA BARGNANI would fit in with really well is the NEW YORK KNICKS! and they would use that Al Harrington expiring 10 million dollars on Andrea so, BC should get some credit in singing Barg to a 10 million dollars per year because if the Raps don’t New York would and maybe even pay a little more for him!
Absolutely agree that it`s great to see Bargnani put it together over a stretch of games but more importantly, look like he WANTS to do it.
If it wasn`t for a lead meltdown again but rather the Raps held a 8-10 point lead for most of the game, we would just be talking about a solid win against a team that was hot in their last 10.
Energy stats are still a concern:
- Points in the Paint: 44-34, Knicks
- 2nd Chance Points: 13-0, Knicks
It was extra nice to see a win where CB didn`t have to lead the way entirely.
- GaryIf this team is to go anywhere in the playoffs, Triano has to lean on DeRozan as the athletic slasher the Raps need. Going to him down the stretch against NY is a start.
- Will, OshawaAndrea Bargnani had ZERO offensive rebounds last night.
He went to the free throw line 2 times the entire game.
He also had a +/- of ZERO.
Finally, his impact in the second half was almost non existent.
Fact is he was shooting well against a terrible team.
Just wanted to keep things in perspective here. Nice win by the Raps, though. Calderon’s work off the bench was huge.
- brento.Brento … You’ve got to give your head a shake if you don’t think that was a good game for Bargnani. You’ve got to be kididng me.
