I’m glad to see the cool weather in ORL for the Raps (not you guys).
Maybe that will keep the focus on the court, not the beach.
I’m guessing Calderone comes off the bench in both a nod to his conditioning and Jack’s play as a starter - would be nice to try for awhile and Jose being a team guy, would be allright with it for awhile.
- GaryWhile I agree that Jack’s recent play warrants starting him at PG, I wonder when Jose’s $9M salary will have him back in a starting role.
There’s no way he stays on the bench for long…not with that contract.
When Jose first took the big step as an NBA PG, I loved him. Loved his bulldog mentality and his ability to inspire his teammates. But, he simply isn’t the player he was , even 18 months ago.
In hindsight, moving TJ and handing the reins to Jose wasn’t such a good idea. But, who knew Calderon’s body wasn’t built for an 82-game grind? I didn’t but, once again, Colangelo is supposed to be some sort of management genius, so he must be accountable for Jose’s regression since TJ’s departure.
I get the sense the team has moved on. But, moving Jose will not be easy. While he is a good PG, he is very injury prone, and has a longterm, huge contract.
If the Raps can get an expiring contract and a young prospect, they should move him. Anything less, and they will have no choice but to keep him.
They won’t get more. Sorry, Raps Fan :)
