“Smith and Jones” Player of the Game:
- STEPHEN JACKSON
23 points
6 assists
2 steals
7/18 FG
7/8 FT
“Alice Fazoolis” Player of the Game:
* We weren’t joined by a member of the Bobcats, but if we were, it would have been:
- GERALD WALLACE
31 points
13 rebounds
3 assists
2 blocks
2 steals
10/20 FG
11/12 FT
Shout-out to the Raptors:
- AMIR JOHNSON

6/9 FG
Stats that stood out:
- Charlotte gets 42 points from their bench (led by the 15 from rookie Gerald Henderson)
- Toronto coughs up 29 points on 18 turnovers
- The Bobcats put up *74* points in the paint (outscoring Toronto in the paint, 74-44)
- Charlotte led by as many as 37 points. Ugh
- Charlotte scored 30+ in each of the final 3 quarter (2nd – 32, 3rd – 33, 4th – 31)
- After shooting a perfect 7 of 7 last night, Jarrett Jack came off the bench for Toronto to go 1 for 9 (2 points, 2 turnovers, 1 assist in 18:57 minutes)
- Chris Bosh’s last two games combined: 10 of 30 FG
- Toronto shoots only 34.5% for the game
Thumbs Up:
- Amir Johnson was one of the few (only?) Raptors that seemed to have any kind of fight in him. 13 points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals in 23:27 minutes off the bench.
Thumbs Down:
- Can we just go with “the game”. Period. From points in the paint … to points of turnovers … to a lackluster offence, the game overall deserves a big thumbs down.
Smith says:
“That was ugly. Toronto looked flat from the opening tip. In spite of the fact that the Raps led after 1 and were down by only 6 at the half, you could see early on that the energy wasn’t there and things got out of hand in a hurry as the game rolled on.”
Jones Says:
n/a
Keep the 3-ball Steak Alive (876 games and counting):
- The Raptors were 4 of 19 from 3PT range
Next game:

- Tune in at 7:00pm Eastern for the pre-game show and just after 7:30pm for the “Pizza Pizza” starting line ups

WOW, I looked at the score and WOW! like, what the hell is wrong with RAPTORS!!! LIKE WHAT THE HELL! This game should have been a EASY win with the Raptors and I didn’t even watch the game because I thought that the Raptors would win! But, NO they don’t and IF I am the players from the Raptors, they have to REALLY show what kind of team they really are and not the ugly team that played today! WOW! can’t believe the BOBCATS out scored the Raptors! Please, if I see something like this again Bryan.C should be FIRED! because as much as Offense wins you some games but, DEFENSE is the most important thing and I AM GLAD THAT THE RAPTORS didn’t extend Bryan.C contract! this is the most embarrassing game the Raptors ever played!
LIKE WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!!!
Please someone explain to me that the Raptors lost to the Bobcats 81-116!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOST by 35 points! WOW!
Against the BOBCATS?????
*Rather watch the Leafs that the Raptors! :|
- Raps Fan No More!Terrible that is all i have to say
- jamesUgly.
And it could get even worse in Boston, fast.
Raps better find some fight …
- GaryThat was a disgrace to basketaball. Its sad that we have three guys we are paying around 10 million a year who are just average in this league. Hedo, andrea and jose all are great one night, terrible the next.
- jose haterno consistency
can you please explain to me why this team/ COACHING STAFF doesnt use a zone D more often …and when i say more often I mean half the game if not more….this team even with and entire new roster STILL cant play D! either that means that the 3 players that they brought back are the main reason for our years of defensive woes or its our coaching staffs inability to teach or put out a good defensive plan…other than that I have no clue as to why every player that comes to T.O forgets how to play defense. Ex: Jaret Jack and Antoine Wright both known for Defense but palying with the Raptors they have both lost that defensive edge. That only points to one thing “THE COACHES” …. i feel the raps only play help defense meaning they are always helping which causes confussion and scrambling. they need to man up and guard the man straight up without help! But the Raptors perimeter plyers always just let their man just blow by and in turn force our bigs to help and take fouls. this has been happening for a few yrs now that has to be a coaching strategy or philosophy… JUST PLAY ZONE DEFENSE!
- NeilHedo for me has been a disapointment…he needs to be the second option on this team Bosh #1, Hedo #2, Bargs #3 …but Hedo has played average at best not like a multi-million $ player… Hedo needs to average 18-20 points a night for this signing to be worth it. In my opinion.
- NeilPoints in the paint we look at. 68 or 70 something to 36 in favor of the Bobcats. I know if Charlotte were to get a breakout team this would happen to the Raptors. And last night was all evidence. Jay Triano, Gherardini & Bryan Colangelo MUST be FIRED!! As for the Raptors organization, they would be a lot better under a proper owner with more basketball knowledge rather than MLSE!! If I were you people and the media, I watch yourselves and stop kissing up to Richard Peddie & the rest of the MLSE who is all about promoting & marketing. Making the fans turn pathetic!!
I’m in dis-belief!! If this is your idea of wanting a Euro-Raptor squad…then you got another thing coming!!
- BOJACKHey Gary. Don’t Phoenix come Sunday. Another beating towards the Raptors.
- BOJACKFirst of all, nba teams cannot play consistent zone defenses becuz of the 3 seconds “in the paint while not guarding your man” rule, its a technical foul every time. You can thank big guyz like Shaq for that! Raps Fan, you don’t deserve to criticize anyone if u haven’t watched the game. I bet u were watching the leafs instead of the raps and hope ur happy! Lot of ppl were hesitant wen they signed hedo to that deal. everyone knws u have to overpay free agents to lure them but his lack of defensive ability at the 3 will kill the raps on some nights, but its not all on him. And if u think he should be averaging close to 20ppg, u dont knw wat ur talkin about! he never averaged that much even in his best years, hes a big playmaker who makes clutch shots.
- SaifI’m not as negative on the Raps as this board has become and the Raps tend to compete more against the better teams so who knows???
But I agree that if they lose to Boston, Phoenix comes fast and the season could be lost long before it is statistically.
Injuries, new players learning each other, west coast trips, back to backs, a new defensive scheme:
all valid, ALL EXCUSES.
Let’s go Raps. Pull one out in Boston and all (some) will be forgiven :-)
- GaryLook Saif,
I didn’t watch the Leafs game nor the Raps game because I had other stuff to do BUT, this was a given game for the Raps! They SHOULD HAVE WON! but, THEY DIDN’T and the GET BEAT BY 35 POINTS! Like what the HELL is wrong with that? This has been a disappointment for the Raps right now because they can’t win the games that they are pose to win! How are they going to compete in the 4-6 seat? HOW? They should just play the guys that are willing to play defense and then guys like Bosh, Turk, Barg, JOSE! wikk follow!
- Raps Fan No More!@ Saif
Turk may have never been a 20pt scorer before…what your point…he averaged 15pts last yr and got his contract doubled! So that reason alone i expect improvement on his part even if its by 3 to 4 points per game…he commanded a pay increase we demand an increase in his play! just like CB4 never averaged 27 points a game or 12 rebounds a game ever before but he increases his production every year and if Hedo is getting paid like a Chris Bosh he needs to pick up play! and the play zone D reference was a shot at the Raps bad defense not be be taken seriously!
