2 assists
2 blocks
8/15 FG

“Smith and Jones” Player of the Game:
- JOE JOHNSON

Shout-out to the Raptors:

6/11 FG

Stats and Notes that stood out:
- Toronto has now lost 2 in a row
- Atlanta busts out of their 3-game skid
- Mike Bibby ‘flirts’ with the triple-double (13 points, 10 assists, 6 rebounds)
- Toronto shoots 53.8% from the field
- Hawks out-rebound the Raptors 37-33
- Atlanta scores 30+ points in both the 3RD (32) and 4TH (33) quarters

Thumbs Up:
- Effective and efficient:  Bosh with 21 points (on 10 of 12 FG) and 10 rebounds

Thumbs Down:
- Toronto coughed-up too many offensive rebounds (11) to Atlanta … allowing the Hawks to keep a ton of possessions alive.

Smith says:
- “Nice production from Quincy Douby – in the second unit – and that’s what you’re looking for right now.  Wins would be nice, but the focus now may be more about developing guys for next year.”

Jones says:
- “Toronto was hurt from behind the arc by a team that was in the bottom half of the league in 3-point percentage coming into this game.”

“V-Tech” 3-In-To-Win Give-Away:
The Raptors were 6 of 13 from 3PT range

Next game:
- Raptors @ Pacers
– Wednesday April 8 2009
- Tune in just after 7:00pm Eastern for the “Pizza Pizza” starting line ups

It was interesting to hear Jay Triano on the fan this morning saying that they wanted to have a better look at O’Bryant, Douby (and Pops) etc in the last few games to really see what they have in prep for next year.

Part of the rationale was that they were former first rounders so “some scout must have seen something at one point”.

But they did with a former first rounder guy called Hoffa no?

Mistakes get made at all levels; let’s see what they bring for the second unit and hopefully prepare for major changes in the off season.

Eric…quick question…apparently, Stormin’ Norman interviewed Brian Heaney last night on his program.

    Is this true?

If so, is there somewhere you could direct me, so that I (and other fans) can hear it?

    Thanks in advance…brent

I have no idea about Heaney. Sorry. I was on a plane to Indy last night when he was on I guess

If it’s not in the “Audio On Demand” section, it’s probably n/a

HOOPS will be on this Thursday.

And HOOPS will air every Thursday until the end of June – on non-Blue Jay nights

In May and June … it will be radio-only though (Raptors TV stops carrying Hoops at the end of the regular season)
