Sunday April 5 2009 – 8:28pm Eastern (Toronto, ON)

Knicks @ Raptors

Final Score:
112-103, Knicks

“Alice Fazoolis” Player of the Game:
* Unfortunately, we did not have anyone join us on post-game.  Had we had a member of the winning team, our “Player of the Game” would have been:
16 points
10 rebounds
4 assists
8/10 FG

“Smith and Jones” Player of the Game:
31 points
14 rebounds
2 blocks
13/23 FG
5/5 FT

Shout-out to the Raptors:
18 points
7 rebounds
2 assists
2 blocks
7/15 FG
6/6 FT

Stats and Notes that stood out:
- Toronto’s season-high 6-game winning streak comes to an end
- Bosh tallies his 7TH straight double-double
- Shawn Marion records his first 3-pointer as a Raptor
- The Knicks drop 13 three-pointers on the Raptors, out-scoring Toronto from the arc, 39-12
- New York’s bench out-scores Toronto’s … 42-14

Thumbs Up:
- Bosh’s 31 points and 14 rebounds were great but in the end it meant very little.

Thumbs Down:
- Defence.  Toronto gave up 55+ per cent to the Knicks for most of the day and despite a bit of a ‘stand’ (if you can call it that) in the 4TH quarter, the Raps still see NY shooting 50.6% to end the game.

Smith says:
- “What a difference a day makes.  This looked nothing like the team (or the D) that showed up in New York yesterday.”

Jones says:
- “The defence went by the books and so did the win streak!”

“V-Tech” 3-In-To-Win Give-Away:
The Raptors were 4 of 13 from 3PT range

Next game:
- Hawks @ Raptors
– Tuesday April 7 2009
- Tune in just after 7:00pm Eastern for the “Pizza Pizza” starting line ups

Cut them some slack. They were on the second half of a back to back. :-p

This is what happens when two bad teams play each other, two days in a row.

    They each win one.

    They each lose one.

If you’re a bettor, you just have to figure out which is which ;)

This loss, coupled with wins by Bulls and Pistons this weekend…means that Raps have been officially eliminated from post-season play.

The jonesy jinx strikes again! LOL oh well, hey E, where’s the pics of the elephants? Any close ups of the lions? LMAO ok so this year is a goner, have to ask you to ask BC, how does he respond to the detractors (I.E- fans, media outlets) that he should be fired after this extremely disappointing season? He said that he maybe inclined to trade for a second pick in the first round, who on the lineup can get that pick? Thanks

The Knicks were on the back end of a back to back as well. That is the worse excuse for poor defense.

Not only do the 6-game winning streak comes to an end, but they are officially from time that should have been….”ELIMINATED” from the post-season.

It was a somewhat interesting game because of the style of play .
Remember the brutal games under Kevin O’Neal where he signalled in almost ever play and score was often in the 60′s or 70′s ?

    What do you think of this season rating;

    Mitchell 6/10

    Triano 5/10

    Colangelo 2/10

    Players 4/10

    Eric and Jonesy 10/10

    Chas…good ratings..really.

The one that stands out a bit is Triano, but I’d say the miserable commitment and terrible defense work ethic of this team justifies giving him a free pass. Some might rank him lower, but do we really know what he’s capable of? The team was awful, very little effort on far too many nights, as they laid on the floor against most teams above .500. Add in the fact that the team didn’t seem inspired by the firing of Sam Mitchell, and I’d say your neutral ranking is accurate.

And perhaps I’d consider the players getting a 3 our of 10. The team’s effort finishing off quarters and games was dreadful all season. Outside of a handful of 4th quarter late comebacks, this team was home and sleeping before the buzzer rang.

Thanks Chas. But I’d give us a 9 at most. Nobody is perfect !
