The Raptors just finished wrapping-up their off-day practice at the Moody Bible Institute here in Chicago. But before the team hopped on the bus and headed back to the hotel for lunch, I had a chance to catch up with Chris Bosh.
Instead of transcribing his comments and writing a Q and A … I figured I’d let you hear Bosh’s words — hear the tone in his voice — as I asked him about the overall attitude of the team right now … stuck in the midst of a 7-game losing streak.
I think you’ll agree … Bosh was very open and honest with his assessment of the Raptors.

NOTE: Jose Calderon practiced today in Chicago. He will see how his hamstring feels in the morning and if there’s no significant pain or tightness, he’ll likely try to give it a go against the Bulls tomorrow night.

Hey E,
Any word on JO’s KNee? How is it feeling today? Was there swelling? Did he go 100% in practice?
- SteveEric sounds like you were subliminally trying to throw Jamario under the bus with your last question. Being professional is important but everyone reacts differently when put into certain situations. Every individual is unique, if a guy smiles after making a dumb play maybe its not because he’s happy, it could be embarasment knowing thousands are watching, and you just let yourself and the team down. A trade and the allstar break is exactly what this team needs to focus and make a run in the second half. Im still on the banwagon but its getting pretty lonley !!
- DouglasInteresting to note him saying that it’s good to be loose sometimes but not at shoot-around and no in games (see Jamario) It’s not enough just to be happy to be in the NBA.
You don’t see Bosh or JO fooling around or laughing much during the game and rightly so.
I’ve said it before but all the hugging and glad handing amongst starters and the opposition can go away too as far as I’m concerned but whatever.
Eric, what is keeping Moon in the starting lineup n your opinion. Do we really have no one else any better (when we’re healthy) to send a message to him???
Also, if I were Triano, I would ban jump shots with with over 10 seconds on the shot clock unless it’s already been inside out or someone got turned back driving to the tin :-)
-have to win against Washington if you want to start making any sort of move.
- GaryYou’re not on the bandwagon alone, Douglas…. I’m right there with ya. Hopefully soon this team will go back to playing the way we know they can.
- DeannaI feel bad for Chris Bosh. Ever since we’ve lost VC we have had BY FAR the worst collection of wing players in the entire league. Probably some of the worst in recent history too. Look at EVERY roster and you’ll find atleast one wing that is better than any of our SG’s or SF’s.
The wing position in the NBA is so important..and Colangelo has not addressed this one bit.
Get Chris some help with even a solid wing, and you’re looking at a much, much better team. Heck, all we need is a 2 or 3 with some handles and the ability to create. It’s a gaping hole and a basic need for any NBA team. It doesn’t even have to be a star.
- RaptorsManiacHey Eric,
- ConradDo you really think the Raptors should just end the season and wait for next year, or do you even think they’ll make the 8th spot.. It is kind of impossible for them to get a string of wins in a row.. once they get 4 wins in a row, people will start caring again.
I think all the Raptor fans can agree we had huge expectations for this team at the start of the season. At this point, I don’t think we’re upset about this team not being a top five team in the east, what really is upsetting is that the effort isn’t always there. All we want to see is 100% every night…win or lose! This team has not been showing up and that’s whats frustrating, not so much the losing or the record.
E., its good to hear you asking the tough questions to C.B. and I’m glad he didn’t really shy away from giving an answer either.
P.s. I’m the driver of the bandwagon fellas, but we just lost a wheel and we’re stuck in neutral at the moment!
- Mr. TYes, JO practiced today and will play tomorrow (barring any setback overnight)
- E. Smith“barring any setback overnight”…Ouch! Pretty good jab, how’s your hook? Not talking about you bball skills either (which I hear are decent). E – thanks for feeding us. Rap fans really do appreciate your work.
- RaptorontoNorm Rumack had good interview with Chuck Swirsky last night ..
- Chas CalzChuck said he would make the Marion – O’Neal trade “yesterday “.
He also implied no one on the Raptors should be untouchable for a trade.
maybe time to shut down bosh, set up for the draft play the young guys. no point in changing anything right now since its not gonna get us anywhere.
- mr.xSigh. I miss TJ Ford.
