Kudos to Triano…win or lose, his post-game interviews are always very insightful and he never arrogantly answers or refuses to answer the questions being asked…quite refreshing!!
- Mr. TIt was a good game and I respected the Celtics clutch performace until the Rondo - Powe bucket at the end. Classless. Reminded me of Gerald Green a couple years ago with the windmill dunk when he was on the Celtics.
- BinsonYou don’t get an wins or points at your press conference
Let’s face it .. as we try to stay optimistic :
Sam was 8-9 when fired by Brainy Brian
- Chas CalzTriano is 8-14
Bush league move by Rondo and Powe to end the game. It was absolutely classless. It just shows the lack of respect the Celtics have for the Raptors
- Stevewhy has oneal missed 8 games with a bruise on his knee. There has to be more goin on then a bruise
what is the update on oneal eric?
There is no information on this guy
- jose haterIt also shows the raptors have no leader and no one to stand up for them. Quite pitiful, and then bosh goes to hug garnett after the game, after garnett had him on a leash and absolutely abused him for the whole time he was on the court.
- JonToo many weak characters on this team.
I’m a little tired of people talking about the “classless” act at ends of games, when teams continue to score points and have a little fun.
Since when did it become classless to score while the clock is still ticking.
I’m a raptor fan too, but i don’t see why any offense should be taken when this happens. What’s next? We enact the “mercy rule”?
- LarryHow is this post any different than reading the ESPN game log?
Anyway, you forgot the part about Bosh not scoring a point after KG got in the game in the fourth quarter. He’s so scared of KG that it’s sad and embarrassing. He finished the game with worst +/- of any player and was a non-factor in the clutch.
It’s nice to get 32 points against the Memphis rookies and then stare down the camera, entirely another matter to man-up to KG.
- ArsenalistEric, When you interview Chuck Swirsky, could you ask him :
#1–if he thinks the firing of Sam was justified or a blunder
#2-whether the trade for Jermaine O’Neal was a blunder
- Chas Calz#3 -whether Colangelo might be on the hotseat if Raps don’t make playoffs? Thanx
oh quit crying about the alley oop dunk…you only get embarassed when you let yourself get embarassed, and if you’re not running back on D, with under 5 seconds left of what was a 4pt game, then let them do what they will with that play…if the raps deemed that the game was out of reach, as they clearly did by not hustling back, then whatever the celts do with that ball is fine by me…i’m a raps fan, but i’m not gonna cry about the celts putting on a show for their fans, with a bucket that the raps players themselves, deemed meaningless…
- Jay BI guess doing a game-day blog and vlog, hosting a pre-game show, and a halftime show … then calling a game for 3 hours … and trying to post a blog in the 15-20 minutes I have before the bus leaves for the airport isn’t good enough for ya? I’ve gotta get my balls busted on what I do or don’t write and if it’s “like ESPN” or something. Whatever man. It may not be of interest to you, but it might be to some.
- E. SmithWhy do you think Triano stormed onto the court? Why do you think he called the timeout with such little time left? Why do you think Doc Rivers stared down the court at Jay and essentially gave that shrugging-of-the-shoulders “I’m sorry, my guys are idiots” motion?
It was a classless move by Rondo and Powe. The game was over. Dribble out the clock. And, yes, I would say the same thing if it was Calderon giving the bounce pass to Bosh on a big dunk in a similar situation. It was bush league.
- E. SmithHey Eric dont let these idiots on this blog get to you. You and Jonesy do an amazing job with the raptors coverage, the blogs/vlogs, beat reports and the play-by-plays are much appreciated by the rap fans.
About the game last night, it was nice to see the raps lead over the celts for most of the game, but the raps really need to work on their defense late in the game, it really kills the fans when we keep losing games where we hold double digit leads.
Also, I know you and Jonesy dont like trade talks but what do you think Brian Colangelo’s main priority going into the trade deadline? Hopefully its not another salary dump move like Dixon-Prezec.
Have fun with Chuck tomorrow, hopefully the raps get a win over the lowly Bulls.
- WillThough the raps lose again this was a very good game. I would prefer to see the raps lose like this… well it was a good game of basketball. Had all the elements of a playoff - home at home back to backs rock. Bosh was outright squashed by Garnett mentally; but his dunk on Baby Davis shows where Bosh must go and go and go. When His jump shot goes down is when his weakness shows, as it does in Garnett’s game - these millionares just get plain cocky and a little lazy. the great players or performances come when the player adjusts his game continually to the defense. on that note, the coaching and bench were excellent tonight. it was a game and we lost to a better team. but at least it was a game. nice to see that Roko is as sneaky fast as Rondo - nice to see him come out of his shell.
Enjoy the game, the rest will follow…

first off, i wasn’t telling you to stop crying about the dunk, but if you thought it was classless too, then i guess you’re included…
just because coaches react in a certain way, doesn’t mean it was right or wrong…the bottom line is, most coaches are from an old school of thinking, and buy into age old clichees like ‘don’t show up your opponent’…well if that’s the case, then he should be just as mad at his team for not ‘competing until the final buzzer’…boston busted their asses down the court for that bucket, and earned to do with it what they will…toronto gave up on the play, rondo and powe didn’t, and earned their fun…if you don’t like that these guys are tacking on an extra 2 with some dramatics for their fans, then don’t let them bust down the court in a 2 on 0…is that idealistic? a bit, but so is you pretending like these egomaniac, style first athletes aren’t gonna take the chance to make plays like this…if you don’t want it to happen, don’t let it…
it’s really not difficult to defend a bounce pass alley oop for a dunk, so i have no sympathy for a team that has it done against them, regardless of the circumstance…i played university ball, so i’m not speaking with no frame of reference, either…
also, don’t sweat that junk about the ‘espn game log’ stuff…i check out your v-log, raps.com blog, and this one, and speak for many when i say we appreciate the effort and the updates…i also e-mailed you a week or so ago asking about mike miller, and you responded within a few days, which i thought was good of you…
so thanks again, and enjoy calderon’s matador defense for the next 4.5 seasons…
