It’s been almost 24 hours since the big man in the red suit first started sliding down chimneys around the world, so as Christmas is about to expire for another year, I thought I’d take a look at those around the NBA that might have got a lump of coal in their stocking!
Here’s my Top 10 list … in no particular order:
Steve Francis – Back where you started, with the Grizzlies!
New York AND Stephon Marbury – For mishandling the whole ordeal.
Yi Jianlian – Possibly lying about his age? Maybe he’s 50 – like Greg Oden (at least that’s how old he LOOKS).
Chicago – How could you not give Rose and Co. a big man to work with? ANY big man (no, Drew Gooden won’t cut it).
Washington and Oklahoma City – For pulling up the rear in their respective conferences. Period.
Monta Ellis – I hear Vespa wants to sign ya to an endorsement deal.
Donald Sterling – You spent money on Baron Davis but let Corey M. and Elton B. go? Okay then.
Steve Kerr – Nice guy. But what is going on with the Suns? What kind of team are they building? If you know, tell me.
Minnesota – The ghost of Brandon Roy will always haunt you.
Joe Dumars – For trading away Chauncey Billups; though long-term this will work out (financial flexibility if nothing else).
Jonesy and I will be back on Boxing Day with another VLOG installment … from Sacramento

Toronto – The ghost of Brandon Roy will always haunt you.
- ArsenalistCan’t argue with that. But you missed the point: They HAD Brandon Roy and traded him. And as good as Randy Foye may be, he’s not (and never will be) Brandon Roy.
Minny has more egg on their face than Toronto. At the very least, if you’re going to single-out Toronto, do the same for Chicago, Charlotte, and Atlanta as well.
- E. SmithI’m tired of this Brandon Roy talk…Six teams passed on him, and as Eric Said, If anyone should look foolish it’s minnesota!! I bet 29 other teams would have done the same and taken bargnani 1 or 2 0verall, so just stop with all this BR talk. Steve Kerr, – although I don;t agree with what he’s doing as a basket-ball fan – is trying to build a team that can win a championship! Although the old suns were fun to watch, they could never win the big games…Kerr, is trying to go ‘old school’ with the big men and half court offence, but run when they have the opportunity…I don’t like it, but over the years, those are the types of teams that have one championships…we’ll see what happens…I still dont think they can beat LA or SA in a seven game series…
- Mr. TEric,
I am on top of the world after my Lakers beat the Celtics. What a win that was! Sort of a mini revenge. Can’t be happier.
During that game Van Gundy repeatedly said that LeBron is BY FAR the best player in the league. I mean, give me a break!! Haven’t they heard of the BLACK MAMBA? LeBron might be having a better year than Kobe, but c’mon Kobe is still the best player in the league if you count all aspects of the game. I like LeBron too, he’d be the face of the NBA for many years to come but I think Kobe still has couple of great years left in the tank and he’s still the best player in the league. What do ya think?
- BeburgIt just did not work out
I totally thought ONeil was a great decision.
- MilesTJ had to go.
Rasho was not the future.
Andrea had lots of potential.
I always thought Sam was not the man.
The point is we are where we are. Bosh may leave in a year in a half.
If we are trying to have a good team, we have a great chance at that.
If we are trying to be a championship team in the next year and a half there is no hope for that.
To really prepare for the future we have to see if Bosh can get us a leap forward.
Even a larger leap than Matts Sundin should have given the leafs. Just like Matts, Chris can always come back!!!!!
Naughty list should also include…
- Eddy Curry – for Deciding to be unprofessional and not taking care of himself to play for an organization that had faith in him.
Boston Celtics – They maybe winning but they are lacking the class that should be represented in the Green and White. At least tone it down!
Lebron James – That’s right i said it…For letting this 2010 to NY get out of hand by fueling the fire and slapping the face of fans in Cleveland!!
Former Seattle Ownership and David Stern for screwing the Fans in Seattle
I can go forever so
How about a nice list…
Starting with D-Wade – Class act by giving to those who needed it more than him especially in these tough times for everyone.
Kobe Bryant – Being a team player and learning to share, Sort of.
Sam Mitchell – Showing class when the Raps Organization let him go!
I’ve got a ton but only so much time!
- Lanny @ RBC from WhitbyI agree with Eric Minnesota traded Roy and Mayo. Sometimes we get so Raptor focused but other teams screw up as well and T-Wolves are a fine example.
- James Borbath AkA The Dino BloggerThey didn’t have B-Roy, it was a pre-arranged deal. They drafted him for Portland with no intention of keeping him whatsoever. However OJ Mayo’s another story…
- JI’m just wondering…who is the GM of Minnesota??
- DanJim Stack is the GM, but Kevin McHale pretty much calls a lot of the shots. Fred Hoiberg and Rob Babcock are asst. GM’s.
