Wednesday December 24 2008 – 1:53pm Eastern

I’m sure many of you are spending the day with family and friends and hopefully you’re like me – taking a break from the NBA and the Raptors for at least ONE day!

I’ll be back at it tomorrow – on Xmas Day – with a quick blog from Sacramento.

The Raps will practice in Sac-town and 4:00pm (Pacific) tomorrow and then gather for a festive team dinner.  Then it’s back to work on the 26th for their game against the Kings.

Before I go …

While EVERYONE seems to be clamouring for ‘trade talk’ these days, let me remind you I have no interest in reading about fantasy trades or wild ideas you’ve created.  Let’s just wait to see what Bryan Colangelo may or may not do.  Or, at the very least, let’s wait to see some CREDIBLE sources/stories before we start getting too excited.

For example, that Eddy Curry-to-Toronto ‘rumor’ is bogus.  It’s simply not going to happen.  Enough said.

One thing that did get me wondering today though …

With Nenad Krstic about to join the OKC Thunder and talk that Jannero Pargo is dying to get out of Russia, I wonder if we might hear some rumblings of Carlos Delfino looking to do the same?  The financial situation in Russia is BRUTAL — some teams apparently aren’t even making payroll.  It might be something worth keeping an eye on.  Who knows.

Anyway, Merry Christmas to those of you that celebrate … Happy Holidays to everyone else.

E. Smith

Merry Christmas Eric, hope you and yours have a safe, healthy one!

Apparently the Knicks are going to offer Carlos Delfino a contract, do you think the Raptors will match if it is reasonable?

Merry Christmas, Eric! And thanks for your professionalism (and enthusiasm). You and Paul Jones are terrific. Here’s hoping that Santa brings the Raptors a long winning streak!

I would love to see Delfino back in T.O. but if he left after only 1 year here I don’t think he liked the city.

aditya, it means payers aren’t getting paid….

If Bosh and JO can stay (get) on a roll and Jose does his regular thing, we need just one more consistent producer, same guy every night. Could be Bargs, Hump, Parker, Kapono doesn’t matter, but EVERY night.

Merry Christmas to all. Let’s hope Santa was good to the Raps this year.

Bosh is the real deal, oneal is coming when he is fully in shape he will be good.

The rest of the guys simply are not good enough. They aren;t worth talking about. Trade any of them

It is time to trade Chris Bosh

We will not win a championship this year or next. If he leaves after his contract is done we are a broken franchise. We could get lots for him now and start the rebuild now. When ONeil leaves there is another 24 million on the table. The longer we wait to trade Chris the less we get for him. I am sure others should go if we are on a rebuild. Lets rebuild now!!!!
