I will have more for you in a couple of hours folks – probably in a VLOG with Jonesy – but I wanted to take a quick minute to pass along this info … Carmelo Anthony WILL play tonight for the Nuggets. Despite leaving early from Denver’s last game with an elbow contusion, Melo says he’s feeling better and he’ll be good to go against the Raptors.
So much for Toronto catching a break tonight in the Mile High city.
As for the Raptors walking wounded, there is still no official word on center Jermaine O’Neal. However, he is at shoot-around this morning (whether he is taking part or not is unknown). I’d guess that O’Neal playing tonight is a pretty good bet … but … that said … I also thought he was going to be ready for the last game against LA as well!
Considering JO has been out almost 9 full days – and considering the Raptors have a nice long rest ’til their next game on Friday – tonight may be a good time to test the big man’s ankle.
Toronto could certainly use O’Neal … given the size the Nuggets have with the likes of Nene and Kenyon Martin. And JO’s shot-blocking and defensive presence in the lane might keep Carmelo on his toes as well.
Jonesy and I are on the air with the pre game show at 8:30pm … with the tip off coming just after 9:00pm.
