“Alice Fazoolis” Player of the Game:
- TREVOR ARIZA
14 points
6 rebounds
5 assists
6/10 FG

“Smith and Jones” Player of the Game:
- KOBE BRYANT
23 points
7 assists

13/26 FG
4/5 FT

Shout-out to the Raptors:
- ANDREA BARGNANI
14 points
11 rebounds
4 blocks
* solid defense throughout the night

Stats that stood out:
- Chris Bosh:  only 12 points on 4/13 FG
- Raptors out-rebounded by the Lakers 54-36
- Points in the paint:  Toronto 32, Lakers 58
- Second chance points:  LA 30, T.O. 10
- Pau Gasol:  24 points (only 10/17 FG) and 9 rebounds

Thumbs Up:
- Jose Calderon had 12 assists and just 1 turnover (though in the end, it meant very little)

Thumbs Down:
- A sub-par 4TH quarter for Toronto; they were out-scored 22-15 and finished the game shooting just 38%

Smith says:
- “You can’t allow the best team in the league to shoot 50+ per cent from the field.  As well as the Raptors offence played in stretches of the game, their defensive effort simply wasn’t there as Bryant was Mr. Efficient and Bynum came alive with a monster 2nd half and dominated down low.”

Jones Says:
- “The was the first tough night of the year for Chris Bosh.  Andrew Bynum went at Bosh in the post and seemed to allow Bosh to take jumpers – not giving him anything inside or going to the basket.”

“V-Tech” 3-In-To-Win Give-Away:
The Raptors were 10 of 25 from 3PT range

Next game:
- Raptors @ Nuggets
– Tuesday December 2 – Tune in at 8:30pm Eastern for the pre-game show and just after 9:00pm Eastern for the “Pizza Pizza” starting line ups

Even though they lost, HUGE game played by Bagnarni owning the boards and blocks for the Raps and Parker with the baskets! If only Bosh had had a “normal” game, we could have had a chance….

Thumbs down to the fourth quarter? This game wasn’t decided in the fourth quarter. Yeah, we were down only 9 going into it but given the way we were playing defense it may as well have been 35. We didn’t show that we could get a single stop unless the Lakers turned the ball over and there was no reason to believe that somehow in the fourth quarter we’d be able to up our defensive intensity, get back on defense or apply any sort of ball pressure to disrupt what LA was trying to do.

Sometimes you have to do more than just play simple man-defense to come out on top.

Also, starting Bosh on Bynum might be the stupidest thing we’ve done.

Watching Phil Jackson Coach the Lakers is a masterpiece. In the 2Q the lakers where up by 13points the raptors scored a basket in transition, one basket, Phil calls a timeout to hammer his guys for his lack of defensive effort on that play and to stop the momentum from building. Then u got Sam mitchell down by 4 with 1:46 to go in the 2Q the lakers go score 3 transition buckets in a Row, question what the hell is he waiting For, call a timeout after the first leak out Dunk, stop the Run maybe the Raps are down by 6 going into the Half. But that 4th Q killed us down by 4 once more, the lakers go on a 10-0 Run making it a 14point game. First off this is the Lakers an Elite Team where talking about, stop that Run Earlier in the ball game.stop that momentum from building, but with Mitchell he Digs that Hole soo Deep, that he puts us into garbage Time. Unbelievable. Yes i know there’s no O’Neal and Jose playing Hurt, but come on, thats just flat out Horrible Coaching.

Also, I forgot to add. Let me know what PGs in this league Jose can perform at a 22/10 level while shooting 50%. Isn’t Derek Fisher a supposedly inferior PG who he should be able to exploit to the tune of 25pts, especially when your #1 options is being shut down.

Harris, Bibby, Rondo, Nelson have all outplayed him and please don’t give me the hammy excuse. If you’re not fit, sit. Don’t play with an excuse.

Looking forward to that TJ/Jose matchup next week.

I don’t think Bosh won any MVP votes vs Lakers .
    We certainly miss O’Neals’ rebounding
Look out for the Nets – 9-7 .. big road wins over Suns and Utah
Devin Harris is developing into an All-star ..

i don’t agree Arsenalist. Toronto had cut the Lakers lead to 7 before giving up the final bucket of the 3rd quarter to see the lead go back up to 9.

But a couple of minutes into the 4th, Toronto had shaved the game back down to 6. In fact, they had the ball with a chance to cut the defecit to 3 or 4

That’s when LA went on a 20-6 run and ripped the game wide open again.

Chas – Harris IS an all star right now. Best guard in the East. I can’t believe what the Nets have done. Kudos to them — Lawrence Frank has done a GREAT job

I think one of the frustrating things is watching the Raps slowly,
m-e-t-h-o-d-i-c-a-l-l-y move up into the half cout and move the ball around, sometimes making the smart drive to the tin, sometimes not. Then the Lakers flash down the court to the leaking front man and boom, now here the Raps come again, slowly, methodically.

We’ve lost to Lakers, Detroit, Orlando and Boston twice already this year with LeBrat comng up (all playoff teams last year

We need to start beating teams above us in the standings because as it sits, any victory against a quality opposition seems to much like a major victory instead of what we expect.

Please get healthy JO or .500 at Christmas and Sam’s gotta go….

Just love what D’Antoni is doing with Knicks . 82pts in 1st half! .. that’s entertaining , plus Knicks , despite the Marbury termoil and trades, are 8-8 , like another team we know and love.
Too many coaches forget they are in the sports AND entertainmewnt business, don’t you think ?

Chas Calz, the Warriors might’ve played the worst PNR defense I’ve ever seen any team play. I think that result had more to do with GSW defense than Knick offense but give the Knicks credit, they hit some crazy threes.
