I’m gonna be totally honest with ya … I don’t have a ton of time to blog right now. I spent the morning doing research and reading for tonight’s game as well as answering a whack of emails, etc.
I was then at the arena by 10:00am for the Raptors game-day shoot-around; did some interviews and got some clips after the practice wrapped up; fed that stuff to the folks back at the station; and now I’m running to a lunch meeting with the Raptors TV folks.
After that is finished, I’ve got a photo shoot with the Raptors TV people (Jack, Jonesy, Devlin, Sherm, PJ) … before heading to a chiropractor appointment at 3:00pm … and then back to the arena to get set for the game at 4:30pm.
It’s a busy day.
So I don’t have a lot of time to check-in on the blog right now. I will be back tonight - WITH JONESY - to do a live blog during the game. Both Jonesy and I will chat with you during the game. So be sure to log back on to www.fan590.comaround 7:00pm if you want to interact with me and Jonesy.
For now, I leave you with a few bullet points from today’s shoot-around:
- Joey Graham is back from his hamstring injury. We’ll see if he gets any burn in the game tonight.
- Still nothing new to report RE: Nathan Jawai
- Chris Bosh talked about how happy his is with the Raptors defense so far in the pre-season. When I asked him for some “pros and cons” of the pre-season … he said there have been no “cons” … only “pros”
- Bosh also made sure everyone knew that his Dallas Cowboys will be just fine without Tony Romo for a month!
- Anthony Parker addressed what it’s like being a team from overseas … coming into an NBA building … and trying to knock-off the big boys. Of course, he did it a few years ago (to the Raptors) while playing with Maccabi. He said guys are really jacked-up — especially the North American players on the roster that don’t get a chance to play in front of family and friends while over in Moscow or wherever
- Sam Mitchell spoke about AP too; saying how impressed he was with Parker’s defense and aggressiveness on offense so far. He said he wants Parker to slash and get to the hoop more this season. Mitchell went on to say that he’s actually very impressed with Jason Kapono’s game so far too … thus … the coach is more than happy with what he’s seeing from the SG slot.
I’ll talk to ya later tonight folks
E. Smith
